Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Just 22 minutes from Portland International Airport, your next campsite sits in a rural area, surrounded by trees, near the Washougal River recreation area and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. You’ll have free high-speed Internet wifi, a chiminea (clay fire pit - including firewood), an extension cord for electricity, and a fully enclosed chain link dog run / kennel at your campsite, ready for your pups! Within an hour or two, you’ll enjoy downtown Portland, Mt St Helens, the waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge, and the wind, water, snow, mountain biking sports plus the wineries and breweries of Hood River, Oregon and Mount Hood. I love to travel and camp with my dog, and have found the HipCamp community to be so welcoming and convenient when camping. See you soon!Welcome to the PDX Hideout! Safe, clean, pet-friendly campsite, with free wifi and electricity. In a quiet rural area, ten minutes (4 miles) from everything you need in the vibrant, charming little town of Camas, just 8.8 miles from the Portland airport. Your campsite is a level grass lawn (45’ x 30’), partly shaded by large evergreen trees. The parking spot (45’ x 15’) immediately beside your campsite is the west side of our second (shop) asphalt driveway. We also provide high speed internet, a picnic table, a chiminea (clay fire pit - firewood included) and a 15 amp 120 volt power cord to the red post beside the driveway. To make sure your dogs are safe and comfortable, we have a solid chain link fenced dog run (15' long, 5' wide, 6' tall) at your campsite. Your pups are totally welcome to hang out inside or out - so long as they’re on a lead or leash when outdoors, they don’t bark repeatedly, and you clean up their waste. We do not have a restroom or portapotty on site - you must bring your own toilet facilities, fresh water, etc. Propane fire pits and camp stoves are welcome - please keep them along the edge of the asphalt driveway - as far away from the evergreen trees as possible. Wood fires are only allowed within the confines of the clay chiminea. Please note that we require you arrive with a fully self-contained camper. Let's say that again here, because some have been confused: *** WE HAVE NO RESTROOM FACILITIES - SO WE ONLY ALLOW FULLY SELF-CONTAINED CAMP TRAILERS AND MOTORHOMES THAT HAVE BATHROOMS IN THEM - NO TENTS OR ROOFTOP TENTS UNLESS YOU ARE TRAVELING WITH A CAMP TRAILER OR MOTORHOME THAT HAS A BATHROOM INSIDE. TO BE CLEAR: WE DO NOT HAVE A BATHROOM OR RUNNING WATER FOR YOU ONSITE. *** We look forward to hosting you!

Quiet Neighborhood
30 ft travel trailer · With pets
This was a great spot to park our trailer. We arrived after dark but it was well lit to back into. It was a convenient location for us to get to and from for our son’s baseball tournament over the weekend, which put us close to the ball field, as we live over 1.5 hours away. It’s a quiet space, love that it was pet friendly and having electric was a plus! Directions were easy to follow.

Kelly and Christopher were excellent hosts! Their land was exactly as expected - located in a beautiful rural neighborhood east of Vancouver, WA. We'd love to stay agin!

Kelly and Chirtopher’s place offers a nice level pad for parking a trailer or small RV, a grassy area for lawn games or tent camping, and power. We stayed four nights and everything was as described. Very quiet neighborhood with areas to walk and stretch your legs - we saw deer and bunnies and the neighbors have quite a few farm animals to check out. We will definitely stay again when we are in the area!.

This was a lovely setting in a quiet, spacious residential neighborhood. A chimnea, picnic tables, a small dog run and firewood were provided. It was quiet. We felt very safe. The wifi worked great, as did the 20 amp power. This was a perfect space to land while visiting family. Although, the hosts were present, we had no contact with them. They were very respectful of our privacy.
