This property was once a 300 acre plus tobacco farm.
The original log cabin was built in the 1850s and now serves as our dining room.
The front portion of the house was completed in April of 1861 and the back in the early 1900s.
We have plans to eventually turn it into a working farm which produces tinctures, salves and extracts of various native plants including hemp.

Heavily wooded mountain side with flowing creek. Easy access (walking distance) to Jefferson National Forest, National Forest horse trail and the Blue Ridge Parkway. (Note: You cannot drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway as the path is an old forest road which has been gated, but you can walk up to it.) We also have a tree house which has AC, heat and electrical connection. Only site 4 is next to the brook. However, the site positions are for the purposes of the listing only. You may camp anywhere on the property. There is plenty of frontage on the creek and several tents can go up there. The toilets at the treehouse and the bus are flushing, camping toilets with sinks.

Roni's campsite offers a tranquil escape with its peaceful and quiet setting, making it perfect for solo travelers and groups alike. Guests appreciated the warm hospitality and found Roni easy to communicate with. While some found the site a bit tricky to navigate after dark, the detailed directions and helpful signage added to the ease of the experience. The property provides a charming blend of privacy and communal areas, with amenities like electricity and a welcoming treehouse adding to the appeal.
This was my first time camping solo. I was gonna go with my roomate however ended up going alone. I was a little nervous bout going alone however Roni was super easy to get ahold of and responded in a timely manner. Property was adorable. Only thing was it was kinda hard to find my camp spot as spaces weren’t labeled/label had rubbed off. But everything was fantastic. 10/10
Had a great time and Roni gave us some tomato’s from her garden — they were delicious! The house was nice and warm and my sister and I loved waking up surrounded by trees and mountains.
We had an okay experience. Definitely not as remote as pictured. There was also a lot of people coming on and off the property while we stayed there. Hosts were kind!
You do not get the exact site that you click on in Hipcamp. There was info on that on the description...but. Only site was to park in a driveway right beside another host. Was not acceptable. Did not stay.
