Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Camp on the river's edge with views across to the small island across the water called Sark Island. Watch the sunrise over the water to begin the day before heading out for aquatic adventures. Why not bring your small boat, kayak or paddle board. It's a great place for a swim. Head out for a bushwalk during the day and relax around the campfire in the evening. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower, and drinking water supply. There is access to rubbish facilities. Here you will find excellent boating, fishing, crabbing and any water activity. We're not far from the Fraser Coast Wildlife Park, and you can enjoy day trips to Fraser Island and Bundaberg. Turned up to the address to a poorly marked sign that was all overgrown. Owner called upon arrival and was very friendly explaining where to go, where to camp, and where to swim. Then proceeded to tell us he’s caught bullsharks in the river so maybe not to swim. Upon arrival to the camp, we were very disappointed. No such thing as a camp. Was a bin and a metal sign that just said “Hipcamp” grass was very overgrown, not even a flat or smooth area to put a tent down. The river in which he said we were right next to, was about 3m down an overgrown ledge and not a chance we could even get down there. Everything was that overgrown we couldn’t see the river at first, nor this “dam” he talked about or the boat ramp. Unfortunately would not recommend this camp unless owner updates photos and shows what it really looks like once he has done some maintenance. Ended up just leaving the site after 30mins of trying to find anywhere suitable to camp. Camped at another campground nearby.

It was a nice spot, away from the busier sites. Quiet and private.

Make the boat ramp more accessible and more slashing around the campsites and up to the river would be good.

Remake is a wonderful host, very accommodating and eager to make our stay a good one. I loved the bush experience next to the river. Hearing all the wildlife, and crickets was mesmerising and relaxing. Our only concerns were that the boat ramp wasn’t as accessible as we would’ve liked (granted we were there when ex- TC Seth made landfall) and it was quite muddy and slippery when we brought our little tinny up to a safer height. There was a lot of growth that really needed to be slashed more. It really is a beautiful spot, and despite these little issues we did enjoy ourselves. Muddies were caught, as well as fish.
