Adjacent, a separate tent houses a compost toilet, ensuring convenience without compromising the natural ambiance. But the magic doesn't stop there. Dive into a world of exploration and relaxation as you paddle along the serene waters, casting your line for a chance encounter with local fishy residents. As the sun sets, gather around the crackling fire pit, where stories intertwine with the fragrance of roasted marshmallows, creating memories to last a lifetime. Whether it's a romantic escape or a family adventure, our cozy retreat welcomes you with open arms. And when the cool night air whispers its presence, fear not, for our electric heater stands ready to wrap you in warmth, ensuring that every moment spent here is nothing short of pure bliss. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the entirety of our A-frame cabin and the surrounding 4.56 acres of wilderness, including the private pond, paddleboat, and fire pit area. However, please note that access to neighboring properties is prohibited. Other things to note Please note: Check-in and check-out times are at the stated times. While dogs are welcome, they are not permitted on the bed. Additionally, smoking is not allowed inside the A-frame. Please refrain from playing loud music and be respectful of our neighbors' tranquility. We look forward to hosting you and ensuring a peaceful and enjoyable stay. House Rules: - Smoking is not allowed inside the cabin. - Please respect the neighbors and maintain a low noise level during these hours. - Parties and events are not allowed unless explicitly approved by the host. - Ensure the door remains closed when the air conditioning or heating is on. Fire Pit Use and Safety: - A fire pit is available for guest use. Guests are responsible for using the fire pit safely and must follow all local fire regulations and any property-specific instructions provided. - Fires must be kept small and contained within the fire pit. The fire should never be left unattended, and water or an extinguisher must be kept nearby. Fires must be fully extinguished before leaving the area or going to sleep. - Never leave the fire unattended. Ensure the fire is completely out before leaving the area. Please adhere to any local fire regulations and burn bans. - Do not burn any materials other than firewood. The use of flammable liquids or other accelerants is strictly prohibited. - The host is not responsible for any accidents, injuries, or property damage resulting from the use of the fire pit. Guests use the fire pit at their own risk and assume all responsibility for its safe operation. - Tip: Choosing the right wood is an important part of fire pit safety, and that means using seasoned hardwoods. DO NOT USE Pine as it burns significantly faster and hotter than many other varieties of lumber, making it a poor choice for fire pits. Also, only use wood that fits entirely in your pit and doesn’t stick out. Swimming/Paddle Boat Use: - Guests may use the paddle boat provided at the property, but do so at their own risk. All users must wear life jackets, which are provided, at all times while using the boat. When done, return the boat to the shore. Do not overload the boat and avoid standing while in the boat. - Swimming is allowed in designated areas, but it is at the guest’s own risk. There are no lifeguards on duty, and guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of all members of their party, including children. - The host assumes no responsibility for accidents, injuries, or deaths resulting from the use of the paddle boat, swimming, or any water-related activities. Guests agree to release the host from any liability related to such activities Grill: Clean the grill grates with the brush provided. Dispose of any charcoal ashes in the designated bin. Never leave the grill unattended while it is in use. Use heat-resistant gloves when handling hot parts of the grill. Wildlife Warning: - The property is located in a natural setting where local wildlife may be present, including but not limited to deer, foxes, coyotes, bears, raccoons, and insects. Guests should exercise caution when outdoors, especially at night. Please do not leave food unattended outside as this may attract wildlife. Store food securely inside the cabin to avoid attracting animals. - The host is not responsible for any injury, damage, or incidents related to wildlife encounters. Guests acknowledge the potential presence of wildlife and assume all risks associated with outdoor activities. Pet Policy: - Dogs are not allowed to sleep on the bed. - Clean up after your dog. - Dogs must be supervised at all times and cannot be left unattended. - All dogs must be up-to-date on vaccinations. - Only non-aggressive dogs are allowed. Your dog should be friendly around strangers and other animals. Damages and Repairs: - The guest is responsible for any damage to the property during their stay. Please report any damage immediately. This was the perfect cozy spot for a getaway. I only stayed one night and regretted not having a second night booked. I was able to relax after a long hike, and the owner was responsive and so sweet by offering me a late checkout. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to return!

Great place. Jean even had set up a hot water shower station. He's in works of building an actual bathroom and will definitely come back once that is done. The site is well thought out, and private although there is another property across the lake. Very responsive host as well! Thank you

With pets

It started off rocky cause Hurricane Debby really put a kink in everything. We unfortunately didn’t have many of the listed amenities as the site lost electric (Air conditioning, fans, pretty outdoor lights, WiFi, coffee maker, or refrigerator) until the last night when power was restored at 10 pm. BUT, the host was accommodating and helped make the trip the best it could be. My youngest loved the paddle boat. The animals were very sweet and the little piglets were amazingly cute and welcoming! My husband caught a couple small fish! The bed was relatively comfortable. There are houses around the pond so know you are in company of others and don’t be alarmed in a stray dog comes roaming to your site. We also ventured to Tobyhanna which is only a few miles away which has a lovely beach and hot showers. Overall, we had a great time even with some challenges!

Beautiful property!

My husband and I loved camping with our dog at Jean’s property. He provided us with everything we needed! Not to mention his property is private and beautiful. I would definitely recommend Sherwood Forest to anyone looking for their next camping trip!
