25 acres nestled in the middle of hundreds of acres of forest. Accessible via a quarter mile long gravel driveway then park and hike in or drive the next half mile.
The campsite is in the middle of an oak forest with plenty of space to park a vehicle or two and to set up a game of cornhole. There's a stone fire pit and area for chairs or rocks to sit on. I have cheap firewood for purchase and there will be non potable water for putting out the water at the site.
The tent pad is located about ten yards from the fire pit and is a nice flat, and dry spot to set up your tent. You could also use some of thr many trees for setting up a hammock.
We had such a wonderful time at Matthew and Brittany's campsite. The site is great because you can drive, park, and then be taken up to the campsite by the hosts. This makes it so you have all the ease of car camping, but still end up in a private spot that feels like its all your own for the evening.
The campsite itself is in a really beautiful wooded area, with lots of trees, boulders, and hills to explore. My favorite spot was a boulder overlooking a hill, where I could sit and just enjoy the view and the peace and quiet of the forest.
There is a nice fire pit, picnic table, as well as a gravel camping pad to put the tent on that provides insulation (also no sleeping on rocks or roots like some tent-camping!).
We came with two children and felt like the site was very safe for them, as well as fun for them to wander around.
We definitely intend to come back to this site! It's so convenient, but also very private. All the benefits of car camping without the draw backs. We also appreciated Britt and Matthew as hosts. Great communication & very helpful.
