Jacob and Liz made their dream to farm someday a reality in 2013. They established Sweet Grass Dairy, an idyllic patch of grasses that covers 140 acres of Central Ohio farm ground. Their farm is very different than the surrounding corn and soybean fields. Jake & Liz use no chemicals. They celebrate the diversity of life found on the landscape. Hundreds of natural birds, amphibians, and insects call this oasis home. Along with a host of farm animals. Chickens, pigs, goats, cows, and turkeys are all raised out doors in a way that regenerates the soil and creates beauty across the landscape.
45 minutes from Columbus, Ohio! We sit 7 minutes off of I-71 just outside of Fredericktown, Ohio, but we never hear the highway. Our farm makes the perfect weekend escape from the big city or a great big breath of fresh air for the traveler coming by!
We have a couple of sites to choose from. We have a grassy field with lots of privacy right off the road. We also have a flat gravel drive for larger vehicles or during wet times.
Come enjoy a slice of Central Ohio heaven with us!
Please do not book same day bookings after 9pm.
This was such a great experience! Quiet and private, delicious food available for purchase, amazing views, and amazing farm animals and wildlife. We especially loved the purple martins and meadowlarks.
If your expectations are in the right place this place is great. It was comfortable and in a beautiful setting. The family was nice and thefarm store was fun and delicious.
Fantastic experience seeing where my food should come from. Staying in the field with the animals and watch dogs, hiking around the area was so relaxing. Loved how alot of the animals would greet you with curiosity. Best and my favorite was Bandito....good story goes with him. Thanks to Sweet Grass and family for all their hard work! Wish we had more room in our freezer for the most amazing products they sell. Recommend the Spicy Italian Sausage, and the creamy cheese!
We stayed in a mowed field just off the road, it was a space that was isolated but if we wanted we could walk around the farm. Jacob met us, at the farm and showed us where to park when we arrived. They have an outstanding store on site. I can't recommend the gelato enough - so, so good! They also had plenty of farm fresh ethically raised proteins, frozen, at fair prices. I connected with some turkeys! I find the little noises of chickens (and now turkeys!) so relaxing. We intend to stay again next camping season.
