Single site camp spot surrounded by woods and water. Our 51 acre parcel is just three miles from downtown Alexandria but you’ll feel like your way out of town. It’s a quiet location with no neighbors, a dock for fishing (or watching the sunset) trails for hiking and one of the best lakes for kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding. We are located: A short mile to a trailhead on the Central Lakes Trail Half mile to Lake Brophy County Park with a giant playground and Mountain Bike Trails Quarter mile from the Arrowood 18 hole golf course Also our lake is connected to the Carlos, Le Homme Dieu, Darling Chain of lakes, jump in your boat and connect to 11 more lakesWe have a level class 5 pad for your RV to park with a patio area designed to line up with most RV awnings. The site is wrapped on three sides by trees. We have a fire pit and picnic table with an ample pile of firewood for you to use. You can walk right down and fish off the dock and we’re pretty sure You’ll like our hilly hiking trails on the property. We live at the site and have a very friendly old dog that loves to greet the guest.

A lovely, peaceful spot to camp for a couple nights! Easy access to downtown and surrounding areas. Electrical hookup was a bonus!

Alexandria serene and peaceful.

Scott has a very nice site and is easy for travel trailer parking. A tenter would need to be prepared for a gravel driveway site. Great fire ring and stock of wood collected from on site wood. Be aware the site is very near the owners home and if you want visual privacy, it may not work for you. On site trails for walking were great. The nearby park trails at Lake Brophy Co park were great, but the rest rooms were locked, no port-o-sans available as a back up. That made our visit very unpleasant if you know what I mean. The park manager is obviously not capable of running a county park.

This was our first experience using HIPCAMP and did not know what questions to ask prior to going. The property is beautiful and the hosts are wonderful but the spot you camp is literally in their driveway. My husband and I are private people and although I'm sure the lake, dock, and big yard were something we could have used with no issue the hosts house looks over it, every time they came and went we saw each other. We have curious dogs and they barked which we are used too but we felt bad being so close to their home. Again this is our mistake as we did not ask any questions just saw the pictures and booked it. If you are a mountain biker and are looking for a place to land this is your spot, if you want privacy and to be next to water this is not.

Very nice host. Quiet place

We were able to snag this spot for a very reasonable fee on a busy Memorial day weekend. Honestly, the hosts house was closer than I had expected from the photos. However, they were incredibly warm and kind people. The made sure we had everything we needed. They went out of their way to help and they made sure we were comfortable. They were not intrusive in any way. The spot was easy to get into and out of and we really enjoyed listening the the frogs at night around the fire. It was very peaceful compared to most camp sites on the holiday weekend.
