Our Mission at the Shaky Barn Farm is to offer our quests a safe, private, comfortable and stress free camping experience. We are LGBTQIA friendly, and we welcome everyone here. Our off grid solar powered seasonal campsite includes platform with 4m Bell tent situated on a farm encompassing 60 acres of Maine woods, trails, fields and gardens. Our campsite is Pet Friendly and sits on an elevated area of a pine forest next to a mowed one-acre field. Campsite includes 4m Bell tent with a full-size bed and additional screened sitting/sleeping area on a separate platform. Our campsite includes a compost toilet, sun shower, and has a covered kitchen area and field stone campfire pit. We are 1.5 miles from Androscoggin River Lands State Park and close to Mt. Blue State Park and the Nezinscot Farm and Farm Store - Winner of the Northeast Region James Beard American Classics Award. We are neighbors with the Boothby Orchard and Farm Winery and the Washburn - Norlands Living History Center. Scheduling Notice: We have blocked out 5 weekends due to scheduled local events that some campers may find disruptive to their stay. The events are Mud runs held during the day with a music (Rap/Rock) concert at night. Although the venue is one mile from our campsite these events can be heard as back ground noise from the camp site. The Mud runs are scheduled on the following weekends: 6/6-8, 7/4-6, 8/1-3, 10/3-6 and 9/12-14. If you feel you won't be bothered by these events taking place during your stay and would like to schedule a night or weekend anyway, please send us a text through Hip camp and we will un-block the weekend so you may book it. Thank youOur solar powered campsite resides in a mature, elevated pine and hemlock forest with 2 tent platforms that sit hillside. The large platform is built around mature white pine and hemlock trees that grow through the platform and has a 4m Bell tent with solar lighted outdoor sitting area. Smaller platform has a 10' x 10' screen house for protected sitting and additional sleep area if needed. Our site has a small fire pit that sits at the base of a large stonewall with stone and log seating. A rope hammock suspended between two large pines is hard to resist. We have several private walking trails that run throughout our 60 acre property. We reside in a country neighborhood. Shaky Barn Farm and Gardens was the perfect spot for a few plant-loving gal pals to get together for a weekend of laughs. The gardens and woodland trails were magical - even in late September - as asters, goldenrod, and hydrangeas peak and ferns turn golden yellow and sumac begin to show fiery red. Adding to the magic was the beginning of a Fairy village at the entrance of the campsite helped along by Bonnie and Mark and their granddaughter. Bonnie brought out a basket of materials and we were more than happy to tap into our inner creative

This place was FANTASTIC! It was the perfect set up for a relaxing rustic trip! Mark and Bonnie were super responsive and very kind. If you are choosing between this place and someone else pick this one!!! It was close to mountain hikes and only and hour away from Freeport! 11/10

I came here with my boyfriend to celebrate his birthday, we had a blast. Mark and Bonnie were great hosts and made sure everything we wanted/needed was supplied, including a bouquet of flowers waiting for us upon arrival and games for rainy days. The location is quiet and private, with beautiful trails to the gardens and throughout the woods. The area was impressively clean as well! We had an amazing time and are definitely planning on coming back. We feel so lucky Bonnie and Mark chose to share their space with us.
