When we first saw Dan's sites on Hipcamp, they looked too good to be true -- but holy moly they were even MORE AMAZING than the beautiful photos and shining reviews expressed! WE LOVED LOVED LOVED everything about our stay here at Dan's oasis on Lake Auburn! The sites are beautifully designed--incredibly private, easy to get in and out of and access hookups. Everything worked perfectly. And the walking trails right outside your door are fantastic -- our doggo will never forgive us for leaving. Dan is the perfect host -- tremendously helpful, generous, kind, and welcoming, while simultaneously extremely respectful of our space. We enjoyed our conversations with him tremendously. He's a true gem. The towns of Auburn and Lewiston are also fantastic -- full of beautiful parks and hikes, along with super convenient shopping. We just love this stay so much -- can't recommend it enough <3

Great place to base and chill.
Beautiful treed location with walking trails. Close to Auburn for grocery, restaurants, and hockey (lol). Quiet and peaceful. Host is super responsive and helpful.

Camping with animals!
Dan is the best. Hands-down, the most helpful and communicative host. The sites are exactly how they are described. And it is overall very welcoming. I thoroughly enjoy our time here. We brought in an RV camper with a child and a dog and it was more than accommodating. If bringing a pet, please make sure that you’re safe and bring a lead.

Hidden gem!
This place exceeded my expectations! After a rough start because I arrived after dark in a torrential downpour and my camper got stuck, Dan the host went above and beyond to help me out. Not only did he take the time to help me get unstuck, he made sure I felt comfortable and happy with the accommodations. The site was perfect. Roomy with a level spot for my trailer and a separate spot for my car. There was also tons of room for my dogs to run around off leash. The location is close to Auburn so we took a walk along the river one of the days we were there. I would highly recommend staying here.

Dog friendly
We had a great time. Beautiful area, well maintained, close to everything but still able to see stars. Dan was easy to communicate with.

Sophie’s site 30/20 amp power/water
Dan's space was wonderfully private but yet accessible to other campers, the cabana space and pond was fun to check out during our stay. The site was very clean and well-maintained, we had no issues setting up a tent and using the water and electric hook ups. Dan was accessible via communication and attentive to our site, providing more firewood and working on improvements to the road in front of the site (a huge rainstorm and rains from the summer had started eroding the ditches). We recommend this great camping spot!
