Welcome to the manifestation of our dreams: Juniper Moon Grove! We abandoned city life to create a human sanctuary where people can come for tranquility, self reflection and to develop a deeper connection with nature. We’re located on 8.6 wooded acres in the small Kentucky town of Ewing, perfectly located between historic Paris, KY and Maysville, KY.
We encourage our guests to book with the intention of getting outside of their comfort zone. Whether that simply means putting down your phone for the weekend or seeking a higher consciousness, Juniper Moon Grove was purposely designed to be off-grid (no electricity, no running water) so you can focus on the simpler things.
This is a sacred space, so we ask that you please respect the land and what we’ve built. We don’t wear shoes in our spaces and practice “leave no trace” when it comes to the land. We expect our guests to do the same. It’s our hope that you enjoy your stay and that you come out of this experience more in tune with your higher self.
The Space:
We value creating a private experience when you book at Juniper Moon Grove, so we only allow one group to book at a time even though we have multiple sleeping options. You will have the option to sleep in a cabin with a queen bed or a canvas tent with a full bed under a pavilion. If you stay multiple nights, you can try both out. The space is yours to explore!
Cabin – This is an Amish-built 12’ x 14’ space with a 6’ covered porch and can ONLY accommodate 2 people. The cabin is equipped with a queen-size bed dressed with fresh linens and a coffee/tea bar.
*Please Note* There is NO A/C in the cabin, but we have 5 large windows that you can keep open for ventilation. This is an off-grid cabin, so that means there is no electricity or running water, however, we provide power banks that can be used for charging phones and provide light in the cabin. We also provide filtered drinking water.
Pavilion w/ Canvas Tent (The Sanctuary) – This is a 14’ x 20’ pavilion outfitted with a canvas tent. The tent is equipped with a full-size bed dressed with fresh linens and there’s an outdoor “living room” area complete with seating and a coffee/tea bar. Just like the cabin, this is also off-grid! No electricity or running water, however, we provide one power bank that can be used for providing light and/or charging phones. We also provide filtered drinking water.
Bathroom – Not all outhouses are built the same. We built a luxury outhouse complete with off-grid toilet and sink centrally located between the cabin and The Sanctuary. It’s simple – after you go #1, put 1 scoop of saw dust. 2-3 scoops for poops. We also provide biodegradable soap for you to wash your hands after using the restroom.
Fire pit – There is a common fire pit area with seating for four in front of the cabin. Please do not bring your own fire wood. If you would like to purchase firewood, it's $10/bundle.
Tree Weave – Artists from Asheville, NC built a 3-level tree net just a short hike from the pavilion. We invite you to explore and hang out on the tree weave, but please NO SHOES AND NO JUMPING. This is a functional piece of art and we ask that you respect it. Anyone who does not respect this art will be asked to leave.
Cooking – There’s a picnic table and propane cooking griddle with basic utensils. Please bring everything you’d need to prepare meals: cooler, food, specialty utensils, spices, etc. We live in a rural area and don’t have many food establishments within a 20-minute radius. **PLEASE NO COOKING IN CABIN or TENT**
Hiking Trails – We built ~.5 miles of hiking trails in the forest for you to explore. Please stay on the trails to ensure you don’t wander on to someone else’s property. These trails can get steep and are slippery when muddy. Hike at your own risk.
**Things to Note**
-This is a sacred space! Please respect our property, nature and wildlife.
-We are located in the woods! You may encounter bugs, bees, wasps, roaches, gnats, spiders, mosquitoes, ticks, bees, mice, squirrels, deer, turkeys, raccoons, opossums, snakes, etc. You will likely even hear coyotes at night while you are trying to sleep.
-We have chickens, guineafowls, cats, and a dog free roaming the land. Beware if you are highly allergic to cats or dogs. This means you may also hear our rooster crow or the quineas squawking early in the morning.
-Due to our farm animals, no pets will not be allowed on the property.
-We live on the property. We are far enough away to give you privacy, but close enough if you ever need anything
-While we do provide some luxuries, you should plan to bring everything you’d normally need on a camping trip except bedding and fresh water. This includes things like: headlamps, flashlights, food, bug spray, tooth paste, etc. Please turn off lights when not in use and use only the water you need in order to conserve for the duration of your stay.
