Weekend Trip to Limestone Bluffs

I loved this site! The Bluffs sign at the driveway made it easy to find. It was private with still being close enough to the wood and bathroom! The platform for the tent was way handier than we could have imagined, made sure everything was level and extra table space. Easy to find our site and host made sure ahead of time to ask if we needed anything and had all the info we needed as well. We took a walk to look at all the other sites, well taken care of, each site was clearly labeled, and separated enough to have privacy at each site. One morning we were greeted by the landowner’s dog, which was a pleasant treat! A perfect spot that was a 30 minute drive from the Mothman Museum/Festival and a 15 minute drive from the Lake Katherine Nature Preserve that has tons of beautiful hiking . 10/10 :)

I loved setting up right on the water's edge. The site is big enough for a family reunion so I was able to spread out. Took my GSD and he was pretty relaxed, which is unusual. We really loved the porch and deck:) perfect to sit outside, watch the sunrise and listen to the nature. What an amazing 4 day trip. We wished we could have stayed even longer! Only complaint was the grill was a little ify with no drip barrier between the flames and the propane tank from a safety stand point.. perfect get away!

America at its finest way of life! Great Recreational Cannabis Dispensary nearby called Ascend in Carroll, OH. Hip downtown historical scene in Lancaster. Experience the healing sacred lands and spacious dome equipped with features.

Sarah is a fabulous host! Super helpful to me with some details and questions I had. Very responsive to my texts before and during the trip. Her land really is lovely. You can see the stars through the tree tops, birds are all over the place, including bald eagles along the creek. Having the bicycle/walking path right next door was fabulous...that's where I saw the huge eagle in a tree. On weekday mornings you may hear a few large trucks heading out early. Other than that, not a lot of traffic noise. When things re-open in the Spring, I would highly recommend checking it out. When we were there the creek was quite low and the campsite had been a bit bruised by heavy machinery. Nature recovers. Thank you again, Sarah! Note: there are several verbal dogs nearby who were active during the nighttime hours. If you're a super light sleeper, perhaps this isn't the place for you.

As a person who lives in the city you often times forget what a get away in the woods will do to you and your mental health. I am so happy I booked with Aaron not only was he an amazing host that provided so many amenities, his little cabin in the woods definitely gave us the recharge we needed. This was my first hipcamp stay so I didn't know what to completely expect. But now all others trips will seem disappointing in comparison. We had a wonderful time at the farm. Possibly are favorite camping experience. This place is awesome! We got some hikes on your trails, had a peaceful campfire, and me and the pup took a swim in your pond. We also bought a couple jars of salsa that we are excited to try.

This place was truly magical. I did not want to leave. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary and spent the weekend snuggled in the woods at the Sugar Shack. We enjoyed all of the trails connecting through the property, took advantage of the sauna, and took some homemade goodies home from the farm stand. I'd love to go back in the winter and enjoy the wood burning stove inside the shack. It wasn't quite warm enough for us to take advantage of it this trip.

I love the bowman cabin it was extremely cozy and felt like home. The property is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Definitely recommend going to the water falls total worth the hike. I would love to come back again soon!

Our remote 375 acres part farm and part natural woodland nestled up to Daniel Boone Forest is ideal for hikers and nature lovers. There are several hiking trails onsite and plenty of woods to explore. ATVs or side by sides are welcome to be used on the main gravel roads and some designated areas of our property. There is plenty of wildlife but NO hunting is allowed. Some of our designated tent sites do have firepits and/or picnic tables. Our trek in sites do not have those options. Pets are welcome for $10 per pet/per booking and they do need to be leashed/under control at all times. This is an extra so please be sure to add that if you plan to bring your pet. Please pick up after them. We are a short driving distance from West Liberty, Cave Run Lake, Grayson Lake, Carter Caves, Morehead, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. We are approximately 20 minutes from the nearest store so you'll want to come prepared. We are located in West Liberty (Morgan County). There are 2 centrally located bathhouses with toilet, shower and sink and a hose for potable water. Nature geeks will love to sneak a peek at the Nature Center, which is chock full of educational information about the surrounding area. With boating, fishing, sport courts, and even an 18-hole golf course, it would almost be a challenge not to stay active in the Little Smokies.

Shawnee Campground

We camped here 2 nights in July 2017 in our tent. We had 2 spots right along the creek, which was really nice during the dog days of summer. The boys loved playing in the creek, and the adults did, too! Shady sites, but a little too close together for my liking and not the best level spots for tents. You could hear every conversation at the neighboring campsites. Restrooms were as you would expect, rustic but sufficient. Trails lead off right from campground, and proximity to lake and beach area is also a plus. Very popular spot with the locals.
