The Preserve at Chalk Bluff
The Chalk Bluff Preserve has everything you could want out of a perfect glamping trip. Magical location amongst the pine trees and not far from Nevada City’s cute down town and close to all the swimming holes along the Yuba. Beautiful and clean canvas tents with a wonderfully comfy queen size bed. There’s one bathroom with running water and shower if you need it. Two communal camp stoves and fireplace to do your cooking, but make sure to bring your own cookware if your planning on making your meals there. The swimming pool is to die for! With a cascading waterfall that runs down into the pool 3 times a day, a water slide and a diving board. Theres also shuffle board, ping pong and horse shoes to have some fun with you time there. And at sunset I’d suggest walking out to Inspiration Point to see one of the best views of the valley. John your host will never be further than an ear shot away from you to chat and if there is any thing you need and is also very helpful with directions.

Poolside Glamping with a View
Absolutely loved what John and his family have up near Grass Valley. Their land is gorgeous and set atop a bluff giving you amazing views of the valley below. In addition, the pool area is borderline resort feeling with a waterfall, slide and ample room. A built in fireplace and chimney along with loungers and seating for many guests. The tents themselves look pretty plain from the outside, but once inside you find ample room for a real bed, 2 chairs and a spacious area to relax in. We would definitely go back and cant wait to see what John does with the Jacuzzi area etc.

Leisurely Poolday in the Forrest.
John and his family have an amazing piece of land. The pool area is borderline resort and is accessible to everyone staying on site. The pool, waterfall and built in fire pit/chimney area are great to meet your fellow campers and enjoy a relaxing day. We spent most of our Saturday at the pool area, cooking, relaxing and enjoying the water and sun. A full modern toilet and shower make it feel much more comfortable than any regular campsite. In your tent, you will find a real bed (no cots or inflatables here!) and a spacious room for the more restful part of your trip. Finally, the view from the outlooks dotted around the land are breathtaking and you can enjoy some amazing stargazing with little to no light pollution.

Excellent
I was the very first guest here. Owner is super sweet and the place is pretty damn wonderful. Little things to nit pick about? He needs to write out some better directions. That's alll i can criticise. Honestly, I don't even want to tell you about this place because it's..... AWESOME. I mean come on.. Nestled in a gorgeous forest are nicely appointed tents with beds and bedding. And then 30 feet away, the nicest pool I've ever been to, complete with giant rock waterfall. There's even a massive stone fireplace and ping pong, and shuffleboard, and... well the rest is for you to discover. Enjoy. Crap. If i have a hard time booking this place again I'm deleting my review!
