You'll find our 5 acres at the end of a quiet, cedar-lined road 15 minutes from downtown Nevada City. 7 minutes further down the road is Edward's Crossing, a beautiful and historic crossing on the Yuba River offering breathtaking views, rock jumping, and icy, magical waters. Nearby there are additional hiking trails, mountain biking trails, lake boating and swimming spots, and so many river swimming holes. We're 10 minutes from Highway 20 and just 45 minutes from Truckee. Our land is close enough to town to grab a bite to eat, but far enough that there are no lights to block the stars.Take a deep inhale and relax in a secluded canvas tent on top of a beautiful cedar deck nestled underneath the pines and cedars. No need to bring your tent, the canvas tent is available just for you and comes with 2 protected mattresses, towels for showering and the river, and a private, outdoor bathroom with a flush toilet and hot shower. Just set up your overnight gear and get cozy. There’s also plenty of space for extra guests and their sleeping bags in the canvas tent, as well as ground space for another tent. Fires are not permitted at this time due to the ban. Please cook on a propane griddle or contained camp stove outside of the tent. We are 15-minutes from town where you’ll find supermarkets, shops, and a ton of delicious options for meals. We are on the edge of the forest surrounded by hundreds of acres of open woodland, meaning we do have wildlife out here. Please be bear-aware and do not leave food out, use a canister if possible, and bring bear spray for an emergency. On the property we have 1 medium dog fenced in by the house. You are welcome to bring your pets as long as they are friendly and get along with other dogs. From time to time neighborhood dogs will roam freely. We also have chickens and guinea fowl on the opposite end of our property, all fenced in with the pup, but you may hear their wake up calls.

We booked this for a quick Nevada City trip and Angelica was communicative early and often - even being proactive about water heater issues (we were glad to note it had been fixed) as well as flexibility with our late arrival. Site was nicely situated, mattresses were comfortable, shower was nice. However, while the directions are detailed, they are nearly irrelevant at night - the markers noted are invisible in the dark so take note. Upon arrival we were disappointed to find a dirty tent floor and mattresses with clear dirt marking on them, as other reviewers noted. Additionally there were some spider friends in the tent, lots of cobwebs and a few small wasp nests in the shower room. A sweep and a spider check would have been appreciated, as would lighted entry given the solar lights aren’t reliable. It was nice being close to Edward’s Crossing and love that Angelica is opening her properly for camping - after some small improvements this place will be great.

A cold, wet night and a cold shower
I booked a stay at Angelica's site near Nevada City for a bit of "glamping" before heading to Burning Man. I was a single woman, traveling alone. I arrived in Nevada City around 9pm and it was very dark. I followed the directions on the Hipcamp app, but got lost almost immediately. The instructions stated that there would be a fork in the road at the sign. But, almost immediately afterwards there was another fork. The host did not say whether to go right or left at that point. The “speed bumps” mentioned were almost invisible in the dark, as were the "hills". The instructions said that I should turn right into the camp, so I turned right. I went up a hill into a decrepit property that was obviously not the correct place. When I finally found the correct site, there were no working lights, and it was pitch black. I opened up the tent to find the interior wet with rain, and bare mattresses laying on the wet ground. As I entered the wet tent, I had no choice but to keep my shoes on. This made the interior of the tent a wet, muddy mess. I fell into a fitful sleep on a wet, cold mattress. The next morning I woke and planned for my last hot shower for 9 days. I stood there shivering waiting for the water in the shower to warm up. It never did, and remained freezing cold. I put my muddy clothes back on and left.

New Favorite Spot!
This was our second time in a month staying at Angelica's property! It is our new favorite spot! It has everything you need for a comfy nights rest while visiting Nevada City and the Yuba River. It's tucked into a super lovely neighborhood with friendly neighbors, making it feel super safe. You're only about a ten minute drive from one of the most incredible swimming spots on the Yuba River, and also only about a ten minute drive into Nevada City which has incredible restaurants. I highly recommend this spot to anyone who wants to do Yuba camping but doesn't want to be stuck at a blown out, overbooked campground.

Serene Yuba Forest Accomodations
It was a total joy glamping under the starry galaxies on Angie's homestead. Clear directions led us right to the site, which is tucked just far enough from the forest road to feel extremely private, while still being easy to navigate to without strong GPS signal from either the town center or river delights. The outdoor shower was a thrill to use and the mattresses were honestly more comfortable than the one on my bed at home.

The tent, bedding, and towels were clean and comfortable and it was so nice to skip the setup part of the camping experience. We arrived at night and found the campsite without much problem. The space around the tent could use a little love -- there is a makeshift fence around the site that is falling apart and some other debris on the ground. The shower and bathroom were very useful, but there were a couple bees nests inside the structure that we vey much avoided.

River Oasis!
We had a great time at Angelica’s property! The bathroom and shower were so amazing and the beds in the yurt were really comfortable. We felt super safe and comfortable and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood with our pup. She also had some great river recommendations and the property is such a quick drive to Edward’s Crossing which is an incredible place to swim. We hope to be back soon, would definitely recommend!
