Upon your arrival, we will provide roomy wheelbarrows to easily bring your personal items to our Dome Campsite area which overlooks the Pacific Ocean (about 10 minutes, mostly-flat hike). Check in 2pm / Check out 12pm Tents and gear are not included; please bring and pitch your own tents. Bring your own food (there is a cooler and dry food storage container) or plan to enjoy dining in Muir Beach. Let us know if you would like more information. Please note that we do not have showering facilities or flush toilets. Porta-potties or composting toilets are available around the property. Water in all Slide Ranch taps is potable. There is no running water at the Dome but there will be containers of water out there for use in hand washing, dish washing, and limited for drinking. Slide Ranch Meadow Campsite
What an incredibly beautiful spot. The folks who were there were so helpful. My cousin was here from Germany, and got to watch the sunset over the Pacific for the first time ever at this stunning site. Would pack a little lighter next time, but DEFINITELY coming back.

Gorgeous, not car camping
It's hard to ask for a more gorgeous place to camp. The view overlooking the Pacific Ocean is incredible. The spot is remote which means it’s quiet. All you hear is ocean waves and animal calls. Great base camp for exploring Mt. Tam, Muir Woods, Muir Beach. It’s right next to the ocean so be prepared for lots of condensation in your tent, especially if you have a single wall. Composting toilet is convenient for pooping but you can’t pee in it. Finding a nearby bush that wasn’t visible from any of the campsites/kitchen was a bit of a challenge. Kitchen has a good stove and plates/utensils/cookware but no mugs or cups. It also has basins, soap, and jugs of non-potable water for dishes. However, there’s no potable water so you have to carry in everything you need or be prepared to walk back out to the trailhead for refills. Speaking of, the campsite’s nearly a half mile from the parking lot over an uneven dirt trail along the side of the hill. It’s a very pleasant 10 minute walk if you’re unencumbered. It's mostly flat but just barely wide enough for the provided wheelbarrows which I didn’t use but saw in action. Even with the wheelbarrows, I wouldn’t bring a typical car camping setup here. I hiked in with my backpacking pack as well as a daypack and 5L of water which was fine but I’ll definitely pack lighter next time. In hindsight, this is a great, low-stakes place to test a backpacking setup. I can’t wait to come back!

Ocean Front Camping
I loved Slide Ranch Dome Meadow! It was a super beautiful place right on the ocean front. Campers should be aware tho that the site is a bit far from the parking lot (about 1/2 mile) which was no issue for me but families and people with any disabilities should be aware. The dome (Kitchen) was rustic had the minimum but yet useful equipments (I did not use need to use it). I am definitely going back and I highly recommend it.

This place is awesome
This place is seriously magical. Windswept ocean view, path to tide pools with all kinds of creatures, plus a working farm/ranch with ducks, chickens, goats, bees, garden, whalebones, etc. Paradise for curious kids! Will definitely be coming back.

Quirky, magical, not for everyone
The campsite is absolutely magical! We had it completely to ourselves on a weeknight in August and really enjoyed the spectacular view and watching whales, bunnies, and quail from next to our tent! The "10 minute walk" from the parking is longer, hillier, and more difficult than I expected, especially for my out of shape self and lugging all of our bulky stuff in a wheelbarrow, and the trail is lined with poison oak. I recommend packing light with backpacking gear instead of car camping gear if you have it. The cooking dome includes a stove (although we didn't try using it) but you'll need to bring your own pots, pans and dishes. Dishwashing and hand washing stations with water are provided. They don't want you to pee in the pit toilet and intruct you to pee out in the open. If that's too naturey for you, this might not be your kind of place. But as impossible as it is to book a site at a public campground in the area, this will be a good option for some. As an added bonus, my 6 year old LOVED meeting the goats and sheep and exploring the garden, and the staff were absolutely lovely to him as he talked their ears off.

Nice site, cool program to support!
Overall its a lovely location and we would recommend it! It's fun to meet the goats, tour the garden, and the trails on the property are pleasant. They would benefit from more clarity on what they provide at the site when booking and when you are there. There are rules that are written on certain signage but would be better to know in advance. For example you are not supposed to bring a camp stove or have any open flames at all (but they have a structure with stoves inside you can use). Other groups camping had not been told to not bring camp stove (told no fires - but not the no open flames at all). It is also about 1/3 mile hike to the site so we found it best to pack as if backpacking as opposed to using a wheelbarrow.
