Our property is 142 acres located on the top of east Cuesta grade, elevation approximately 2100. We are secluded enough to feel like you're far away from city life but in reality only 20 minute drive to downtown San Luis Obispo. The main road up continues past our property and turns into the Los Padres National Forest and is very popular for hiking and biking with locals. We also have private trails within our property. We have a farm consisting of 10 sheep, 10 goats, 30 chickens, 2 pigs, 4 dogs, a cat. Interaction with farm animals may be possible upon request. Most campsites are close to our animal pastures. Guests have enjoyed having a morning coffee in the company of sheep and a couple of pigs on the other side of the fence. Bee hives are located on the property as well. Honey, eggs and firewood are available for purchase. :)
The campsite offers a charming and secluded experience, perfect for those looking to immerse themselves in nature. Reviewers appreciated the privacy of the campsites and the stunning views, particularly at The Range. The presence of friendly farm animals added a unique touch to the stay, while amenities like clean composting toilets and accessible water spigots were noted. Some guests mentioned the challenging road conditions, suggesting that wet weather could pose difficulties, but overall, the site's beauty and tranquility were frequently praised.
Great campsite! We’d come back again and the location is pretty epic. Hosts were responsive and sold us lots of great firewood.
Only small downside is that this campsite is incredibly exposed at the top of a mountain. It would be lovely on calm nights but unfortunately we had quite a storm and our tents got battered. Not the fault of the campsite, but just worth flagging it for future users.
Really beautiful property with helpful, communicative hosts. Loved seeing the goats and pigs! The main dirt road to access the property is also wonderful for hiking, biking, or running. We took an hike and enjoyed the sweeping views over SLO during sunset. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
Such amiable hosts! Great communication, super friendly, and very helpful. They have animals on the land that we got to meet and we got to buy farm fresh eggs and honey! Site was private and beautiful, and bathrooms were nice (regular and compost). Couldn’t recommend this place enough. We as 5 women felt very safe and cared for on the grounds. Thank you guys!
Fabulous place to camp! The views are insane, the animals cute and friendly, campsite has everything you need and only a short drive in San Luis Obispo or Santa Margarita.
Karina and Chris were absolutely lovely - kind and helpful.
Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Everything was transparent from the beginning, including a call receiving some direction from our host on how to access site in the rain. Even so, the road up to the site was very rough on car suspension, cut with several deep divots, and needs work. Also, kind of odd to be camping next to a giant farming mechanism (shady oak).
