Joshua Tree Lakes staff were welcoming and helpful. The sites were clean and well maintained. They even rake the sites between visitors! We stayed in the dry RV sites which were large and perfect for star gazing at night. It is close to both of the north entrances to Joshua tree state park and the towns of Joshua Tree and 29 Palms. And yes, there is a small lake there!
Joshua Tree Lake was a perfect spot to go tent camping. All the signage for driven directions were visible and reflective for night time driving. We picked a spot at the back of the camping park for more privacy. My husband had never been camping before, so we didn't want to be judged while we were figuring out how to put up a tent together and cook camping food for the first time. We had to walk a bit to get to the bathrooms, dish washing area, and showers. Again, that was by choice so we wouldn't be around the majority of campers. The hosts were ALWAYS responsive when I messaged or called with any questions. It was amazing that there was a little general store, which we needed for firewood. The dumpster and recycle bins were very convenient for our departure. The staff was very nice and we would love to come back.
Great campsite. I was on the west side since it’s the most secluded but that also means the farthest walk from the bathrooms and showers. Fine by me though. Overall the camp is large and has good facilities. The hot water showers are especially nice. Pretty lake and perfect spot for desert hikes.
Super well organized and clean, this campground is in a beautiful setting (lots of bird life) and very convenient to Joshua Tree NP. The adjacent music and rock show space looks fun!
