Official member of the FreeDog Farms fan club here! Holy moly—I had so idea such a place existed! As a solo female camper, I am always a bit nervous about safety, but Darin and Sierra allayed my fears immediately! Although I arrived after dark, Darin came and opened the gate for me. I got a full tour of the barn, including 12 local beers on tap, a roaring fire in the pit, and new friends sitting around a table chatting. Then I got to explore the many miles of trails of the mountain to find my favorite camp spot. The campsites all have a gas fireplace (meaning you don’t have to fill the car with dirty fire wood!) and picnic tables. Some have umbrellas and hammocks too! In the light of the next day I got to meet all the resident doggos, plus goats, chickens, cats, ducks, etc. Bottom line: was having too much fun, so spur of the moment decided to extend another night! I was very sad to (eventually) come home, but since it’s only 2 hours away, I’ll be back. (Gonna try to get a camp-site/hiking trail bingo!) I can’t recommend enough! Just go and thank me later :)
