Completely private 19 acres to explore while only being 10 min from downtown Los Gatos (FYI has great cell reception). We have a small cabin that has a mattress that sleeps 2 and a futon below for 1. Also plenty of flat empty land to pitch tents. There is a compost toilet and an outdoor shower with running hot water. There is plenty of room to explore, half of the property is pretty dense wilderness but the main half has hammocks, slack line, fire pit, bbq, tables, etc. *FYI due to the steep driveway (see pic) the property is only accessible by AWD or 4-wheel drive SUV or truck; cars, vans, or RVs will not be able to make it (if you are not sure please ask before booking). We have an awesome cabin that sleeps 2 upstairs and 1 downstairs on the futon (and potentially 1-2 more on the floor if needed). On top of that there is plenty of open space to pitch a tent anywhere you would like. We have a beautiful tiled floor outhouse that has a compost toilet, running sink water (non-potable) and a separate shower area with running hot water. The place is great for a couple or a large group as its is completely private, you can park many SUV/trucks and pitch many tents on the property. There are some trails and some things to explore on the property too. We are only 10 min from downtown Los Gatos, 10 min from the reservoir and close to many hiking and biking trails. Things to keep in mind: you need a 4 wheel drive or AWD SUV/truck to drive up the driveway, do not attempt in a car, van or RV (if you are not sure please check with me), only access the driveway after turning around above the property (access only coming down the mountain). There is poison oak so be aware and we recommend long pants for hiking on the property. The water comes from rain barrels that we refill from our well, so it is not limitless (please conserve), the water is non-drinkable (probably fine if you are boiling it). There is also no street parking, the nearest spot is at the bottom of the mountain (2 miles away), so if you have a large party or visitors make sure someone has a 4 wheel drive SUV to drive them onto the property as it is to far to walk.

Camp Jaron offers a spacious, secluded escape with plenty of activities for families and kids. It's well-equipped with amenities like a zip line, slack line, and an open-air shower, but be prepared for a rural setting with wildlife like deer and mice. The site is praised for being conveniently close to Santa Cruz and Campbell, making quick trips to town easy. While the driveway requires a 4-wheel drive, guests consistently appreciate the thoughtful setup and beautiful views.

Calm and serene
Good place. Very calm and chill. It has everything you need except for a heater. But dress warmly and bring zero degree bag then you will be fine

A convenient get away
With kids
We loved this secluded spacious spot. Super close to lots to do, about 30 minutes from Santa Cruz and Campbell so close enough to make a quick run to the grocery store or the beach. This location is much bigger than the pictures do justice. It could easily fit 3 or 4 families and has tons to do! A slack line, high quality zip line (mostly for the kids <120 lbs for the most fun) the views are excellent the start gazing was decent. The little cabin provides space for 2-4 people maybe a few more if folks sleep on the floor. The restroom area is well appointed if a bit rustic, but way better than a porta potty or less. The shower was one of my highlights - nothing like an open air shower with hot water! 4 wheel drive is a real requirement. Also be mindful this is a decently rural spot. We had all sorts of visitors from a family of deer and various birds to wasps, ants and lots of mice.

camping was great!
With pets
We enjoyed our time here at Camp Jaron. We were lost in the beginning but after reviewing directions from owner we were able to find the location and actually find the camp. We like that a lot of necessities are provided and that its connected to natures and trails. We would visit again! Thank you very much

Camp Jaron is a great place to stay - there's a ton of space to walk around, fun activities like ziplining and the slack line, and our dog had plenty of space to run around. The cabin also had everything one would need. We'd definitely come back here in the future!
