I am a working artist of many mediums; ceramics, copper, painting, collage, et al and proprietor of Behr Art Gallery & Gifts.
Alongside this work, I design spaces and events, host workshops, markets, annual festivals, officiate weddings, and make my ever-morphing property available for others to share and enjoy.
To that, I've spent nearly every day designing, decorating, reconstructing, reconfiguring and reworking this historic property, farm and gardens.
The structures I've built and designed that are available for your retreat include the CABIN, the LOTUS, the POND HUT and the TREE HOUSE.
The Cabin was once a bunkhouse. The previous owners moved it (rolled it on logs) to its present location. In doing so, the floor joists needed to be reattached and a foundation was constructed to stabilize the building. My brother and I cut, fitted, mudded, tied, nailed, plumbed, electrified and created a marvelous space.
This is otherwise a working art studio, organic farm and orchard, with ponds, shade trees, peace, quiet and some of the darkest skies for star gazing in the nation.
My backstory:
A Connecticut native, I moved to Silver City/Pinos Altos New Mexico in 1970 and then to Glenwood in 1982. For twenty-two of those years, I lived on a ranch with a herd of horses and two donkeys, and my passion was endurance riding. After thousands of training hours, competitive miles, and sponsoring the Scorpion Sting Endurance Ride, I gave it up for the life I now live on this land.
Beth asked for our ETA and was there to greet us. She is a warm, artistic and a caring woman that has her own unique style. We appreciated her hospitality and fire the first night. Enjoyed her grounds and location to the west side of the Gila. Great girls trip location for next year as well and hopefully we can bring a couple more friends along since she has other rentals.

Unique and wonderful experience!
I can't say enough about what a delightful host Beth is! Everything about this property is just enchanting, from all the Bohemian artwork, to the menagerie of pets (many of them rescues): horses, donkey, goose, cats, dogs, chicken, koi... The Gabor sisters, Zsa Zsa & Ava, are adorably friendly (without becoming obnoxious) dogs. Beth shared so many stories about the Glenwood community and her fascinating past. Beth is an artist with a huge heart.
We also were able to take some fabulous photos of the Milky Way, right from Beth's front yard.
We're in the midst of a three month cross country trip. Our two days with Beth will undoubtedly be a highlight of the whole tour.

My stay at Beth’s was everything I needed and more. She is a thoughtful and incredibly generous host. The tent was gorgeous and just as pictured and described. If you want to live a few days in total bliss, surrounded by the most loving, gentle animals, go to Beth’s tent (or stay at any of the sites on her property). I couldn’t recommend it more.

A Truly Memorable Vacation Stay
It was so relaxing to spend the week at the cozy cabin! We had the pleasure of having not only Beth, but her brother as our hosts. Taking the time to check out everything on the property including all the artwork, the animals and the wonderful night sky made it our most memorable vacation! This is definitely a place you will want to stay!!
