Feel the hug of the mountains throughout your stay, while also having access to Blacksburg nearby should you need it.  DIRECTIONS: Upon entry the gravel road is shared with my neighbor and it is about 1.5 miles from the entry gate to the site. You'll enter thru a gate (it may be closed, if closed please close behind you as my neighbor sometimes has cows). Go approx 1 mile the road will split...go up the hill on the right. Continue past the Hay barn another half mile. Park on the left side of the gravel road along the tree line. Another 50ft you'll see a wood foot bridge across the creek. The sites are ahead, PawPaw is first, then Bloodroot Base Camp (bell tent), and lastly Cohosh Cove is the most private. Each site has a sign as well When driving, please be respectful of the right of way. Drive slowly and respect the farm equipment. Also please do not venture onto the neighbor’s property other than entry and exit. About the property 20 minutes from Blacksburg and 35 minutes from Roanoke, our campground gives you great access to the “Triple Crown” of the Appalachian trail, consisting of McAfee Knob, Tinker Cliffs, and Dragon’s Tooth. Conquer these iconic peaks of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains for spectacular views of the surrounding wilderness. I typically try to meet the campers if I can upon arrival, I am available for questions and can be hands on or off as the needs of campers suggest. The vintage camper was located in a quiet, peaceful location. It has the quaintness expected with a camper of this period. We enjoyed the privacy and the open space surrounding it. The soft chicken and rooster noise was welcome. The owner was quick to respond to any issues and quite kind as well as thoughtful. We were practically within Hanging Rock State Park so this camper stay made it easy for us to explore but still have a comfortable place to return.

Weekend Trip to WindSong in the treetops/hot tub

Myself, boyfriend and two pups had the pleasure of staying at the Wind Song yurt this past weekend and it was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t have asked for anything better! The place was stunning, stocked for all needs and a great getaway. Jodee was great at communicating with any questions with incredible timing. We stayed during a snow fall, so we did not get the full river experience- but even in November the view is beautiful. The little cabin was just enough for my young family of 4 and our dog. Host made it super simple and had everything we would need and made sure to check on us via messages to make sure the heater was sufficient (which it definitely was).

Weekend Trip to The Lee Farm

What a peaceful place to spend a weekend at! My partner, our 2 dogs, and I had such a relaxing stay at The Lee farm in the glamping tent. The cows were so fun to watch and listen to! Theresa is a wonderful host who is such a pleasure to chat with. We enjoyed exploring with our pups, laying in the hammock, and stargazing. We were grateful to have almost all the amenities we needed on site so that we didn’t have to pack too much since we visited from out of state. It was a bit chilly overnight when we stayed for a mid October trip, and the comforter in the tent was so luxuriously cozy and warm, we didn’t feel cold at all while sleeping! It was nice to have a real bed instead of our camping pads for once. Glamping at its finest!

This is a wonderful cabin getaway. The grounds were well kept, the cabin was comfortable and Darin was so great deal with. It is close to Hanging Rock SP which was a plus. I would definitely stay here when I’m in the area.
