East Austin City RV Spot

2 sites · RVs1 acre · Austin, TX
**NOTE (as of Sept 2024 until Nov 2024) I have an RV'er staying month to month. She's open to an RV in front of hers. She uses the 30amp, so if you're interested in joining us, then you'll have to have a 50amp RV or an adapter for 50amp to 30amp. More detailed discussion will be needed to be sure all of us fit and are a fit.** This RV spot offers the perfect blend of proximity to Austin's vibrant attractions and the comfort of a cozy neighborhood setting. Situated on the side of my house, the 80-foot long spot provides ample space for your RV adventures. The entire lot is securely fenced in, granting guests exclusive access to amenities such as the pool, hot tub, and yard. Enjoy privacy with no neighbors in the back and an 8-foot tall side fence where your RV will be parked. While my own RV won't be onsite during your stay, parking towards the back allows for privacy and the extension of awnings. Backing in is recommended, and though my 33-foot long RV fits comfortably, larger rigs may find maneuvering a bit challenging due to the angle from the street through the front gate. There's plenty of room to tandem park a towed vehicle in front of your RV, and both 50amp and 30amp electric hookups are conveniently located on the back side of my house. Water is also accessible from the rear. While live sewer hookup isn't available, I offer convenient dumping options when the black tank is full. Nestled in a charming, gentrifying neighborhood, expect the pleasant hum of city sounds (not overly loud) and glimpses of starlit skies. During your stay, I'll be residing in the house with my sociable dog, Toby. We'll be respectful of your privacy but available for any assistance you may need. Toby loves company, including other dogs, and has even been around cats with proper introductions. Feel free to reach out with any questions or to arrange a booking!

Easy Breeze

3 sites · RVs, Tents3 acres · Wimberley, TX
The property was inhabited by Donkeys and a Donkey barn and a Grey Fox family. Now it has a 15yr old Blue Heeler and a Silver-ish Fox. Nice shady oaks to park your motorcycles under. Walk downtown and have pizza at Community Pizza or get some food for the grill at HEB. First Saturday of the month Market Days goes on in the daytime. Five minutes from Historic Downtown Wimberley, Texas; Blue Hole; Jacob's Well; Cypress Creek. Walking distance to Market Days or just take a soak in the tub. Secluded, but convenient with wifi. I am a motorcycle enthusiast and traveler whenever possible. My idea is to cater to riders of all kinds, If you have a need and I can help, I will. 19 miles away situated along a one-mile stretch of the spring-fed Blanco River, the small but mighty Blanco State Park is very family-friendly, offering the spectacular Falls Dam, nature trails, fishing, tubing, kayaking, and deep water for a good, refreshing swim. The stocked river is teeming with largemouth and Guadalupe bass, catfish, sunfish, and rainbow trout, and can be an excellent place for beginning anglers (you can even borrow equipment for free). Pedernales Falls State Park is only 35 miles away. Swimming at holes, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and birding are a few of the quintessential outdoor Texan activities visitors enjoy most at Pedernales State Park, located near the area of Texas Hill Country where former President Lyndon B. Johnson grew up. Next to the famed Pedernales River, the park is an hour west of Austin, an hour east of Fredericksburg, and about 20 minutes from downtown Johnson City. Wineries and distilleries are a short drive away in nearby Dripping Springs and Stonewall. Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them.

RV camping in Lake Travis with wifi provided guide

Overview

Arguably the most popular of the Hill Country lakes, Lake Travis is a natural playground for Austinites. Stretching along the Colorado River from Hudson Bend to Pace Bend Park, this sprawling recreation area has everything you need for a summer vacation. Take to the water to swim, boat, or kayak, have fun at the water park and zipline course, or play a game of golf by the lakeside before checking out the lakefront restaurants and cocktail bars. Campers have options, whether you prefer an RV resort with full amenities, an eco glampsite, or a quiet tent site at Arkansas Bend or Windy Point parks.

Where to go

Texas Hill Country

The rolling hills, wildflower meadows, and vineyards of Texas Hill Country surround Lake Travis. Set out on a scenic hike or bike ride through the hills, cool off with a swim at Hamilton Pool or Pedernales Falls, or enjoy wine tasting along the Hill Country Wine Trail. There are hike-in tent sites and electric hookup RV sites at Pedernales Falls State Park, but for something more unique, opt for a quirky glampsite or camp on a country farm.

Austin & Around

The state capital is little more than a half-hour drive from Lake Travis, making it easy to take in the highlights on a day trip. Austin has more than its fair share of green spaces, whether you want to rent a paddleboat or stand-up paddleboard on Lady Bird Lake, cool off with a swim at Barton Springs or Deep Eddy Pools, or go birding at the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge. On the outskirts of the city, McKinney Falls State Park is a favorite for campers, with hiking, biking trails, and fishing spots, as well as cabin rentals.

Along the Colorado River

The Colorado River winds its way north from Lake Travis, dotted with golf courses, vineyards, and recreation areas where you can pitch a tent or launch your boat away from the summer crowds. RV resorts, houseboat rentals, and lakeside restaurants cluster around Horseshoe Bay, while the hills around Buchanan Lake and Inks Lake State Park have great hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding trails.

San Antonio & Around

Two hours south of Lake Travis, San Antonio is known for its Alamo and RiverWalk, but it’s also the gateway to some of the Hill Country’s most scenic camping getaways. Head to Garner State Park to fish, kayak, and admire the fall foliage, get your adrenaline fix tubing and mountain biking at Guadalupe River State Park, or escape the crowds at the walk-in tent sites in the Government Canyon State Natural Area. For city camping, there are basic tent and RV sites at Calaveras Lake and Braunig Lake just south of downtown.
