Discover dinosaur footprints, freshwater beaches, and treed bike trails when camping in Keller.
Even though Keller is close to a big city, there’s no shortage of camping and outdoor recreation opportunities around town. Head to Murrel Park for RV and tent sites equipped with fire rings, grills, picnic tables, pit toilets, and full hookups. Days are for mountain biking the North Shore Trail, paddling around Grapevine Lake, or reeling in catfish from the shoreline. Discover more scenic recreation in Ray Roberts Lake State Park, roughly an hour north. Hike the multi-use Greenbelt Corridor Trail, relax on the sandy beach, and rent a boat from the marina. Tent, motorhome, and equestrian campers will find state-park campground amenities like firepits, hitching posts, water and electrical hookups, and restrooms with showers. Step back in time at Dinosaur Valley State Park, just under two hours away. Head to Paluxy River and walk among prehistoric dinosaur footprints—late summer is the best time for visibility when water levels are lowest. Here, tents and RVs are welcome at campgrounds with fire rings, lantern posts, restrooms, and showers.
