2 nights at The Lake Pasture

Stayed at this property for 2 nights and it was amazing! The lake is gorgeous and there’s a bench on the dock to sit back and relax. The campsites and spacious and pretty private. The fence blocked some of the wind. There is also access to a porta potty and non-potable water available at each spot. My dog and I really enjoyed this camping site! Between being a short distance from the beach, the animals across from the campsite, and access to the lake I would definitely stay here again!

I had such a splendid stay on Dave's land! From the serene little lake to the red winged black birds singing and flitting around me and the adorable alpaca and sheep. The sites are somewhat close to each other but other campers were also there to enjoy serenity so the ambiance remained peaceful and quiet. The road next to the land was not busy so the occasional vehicle wasn't an issue as the main sounds were the ocean and the symphony of birds and then frogs at night. I loved being a few minutes walk from the ocean and Dave is very friendly and the $10 tubs of firewood were very generous! I can't wait to come back!

The lake pasture was awesome! Dave was super kind and the firewood kits available were very generous. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely be back. If you’re looking for a quiet, accessible and, pet friendly place to unplug and camp at the beach you can’t beat this. Beach access is steps away. Our pup enjoyed the stay as well !

I loved my stay in Dave’s land. Perfect spot in great location. Had a campfire with the generous sized tote of wood available to get on site. Watched the stars and explored the coast. Cleanest Porto-potty I’ve ever been in too. Great hipcamp spot!

A beautiful spot between a quiet lake and an epic beach! We loved listening to the birds in the morning, seeing the llama, and exploring the dune at Cape Kiwanda. The site was clean and private.

This place was wonderful! It is right across from the beach, a short drive into town, along a beautiful scenic drive, and down the road from some calm and stunning hiking. The animals were friend and the land came with all the basics. On top of that, Dave and his wife were fantastic!! Not only were they friendly, Dave came to the rescue when my van was stuck in the mud (my fault—I went to close to the wet lands). Could not ask for a better place to stay on the coast

My teenage son and I had such a pleasant day and night at camp! Shady site #7 was a cute secluded forest spot with a picnic table and a fire pit with enough room for our rooftop tent (or a couple ground tents). We were just a short walk from the water and bathrooms up the road and there are several wonderful camp spots to choose from. Mark was a WONDERFUL host and was so helpful, kind and accommodating with lots of information about Tillamook and surrounding Oregon. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll get a visit from Oggy, the SWEETEST black lab, and Jinx the cat! We will 100% be back, thanks so much for a great stay Mark!

We loved camping on Dave's land. It is conveniently located across the beach and in front of a small lake. The location is beautiful, peaceful, and clean. At night you can hear the waves crashing and the frogs croaking. Each campsite has a fire pit, bench, and non potable water. If you don't have fire wood, do not worry, Dave has plastic bins with fire wood and a fire starter for $10 (he takes cash, Zell, or vevmo). We also enjoyed watching the sheep and llama named Forest. They are so cute! We were able to disconnect from the world literally (THERE IS NO INTERNET). We did get some reception at the beach. We appreciated Dave coming down and introducing himself and asking if we had any questions. Next time we are in the Oregon coast, we will make sure we camp here again.

Both Dave and his property were really welcoming and accommodating. The campsites are well spaced and you can achieve plenty of privacy through your set up. The fences, picnic tables, fire pits and available firewood was all very nice and set this place apart from a typical campground experience. The porta-potty was clean and well stocked. All good things! My kids also really enjoyed the animals, particularly Forrest the Llama.

Beach is right across the street & big pond right on site. Farm animals are nearby- super friendly if you love animals & not smelly or loud if you don’t like them. Each site has privacy & the hosts were incredibly accommodating. Perfect stop while visiting the coast!

Ron & Jackie were very helpful and friendly. They even offered for us to take a better spot (#12). The campground was clean and well-maintained. It is about a mile from the beach so not too breezy. We really enjoyed our entire visit.

Other than the neighbor's dogs which is fully disclosed by host, the experience was wonderful. Scott is a great host. Super friendly. Location easy to get to and level parking. ATT reception excellent, was able to stream live TV. Rock creek is beautiful. Very safe to leave camper unattended. Highly recommend if in the area.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed camping on Dave's property. Dave is super nice and helpful and made our stay great. The Lake Pasture is clean and well taken care of. Having two sources of water close by was awesome. It was an enjoyable experience all around from listening to the frogs to, visiting with Forrest the Llama and Elbie the lamb, catching salamanders in the afternoon, and listening to the rain at night. Thank you for a fun time!

The location is central and half an hour to just minutes away from water bodies Hagg Lake, Nestucca River, Yamhill River, little Niagara Falls, Mill Creek, Baker Creek, Rainbow Lake and more… Such as the Carlton public pool. If your looking to jaunt from camp a little further, we are located a little over an hour and a beautiful drive to the Pacific Coast and about an hour from Portland. Although in the middle of the country woods, we are surprisingly only two and a half miles from the adorable and quaint town of Carlton. So beside the views, you’ll be alongside some fantastic eateries and outstanding winemakers. Being raised in the community, and over ten years of experience in the local food and wine industry, I can give recommendations aplenty. ꕥ The property has been in our family since the late 60’s and has recently been transferred in ownership to the next generation! It’s been a large adjustment with many precious memories in tow. In hopes to carry on the legacy we opened up camp mid-summer 2021, and it’s a work in progress (as work normally is!), but has been a beautiful experience being in a position to share. There are two family homes on the property with people who truly admire this land we have been given so we do ask you to respect our process in this adjustment, as we miss our grandparents and parents who have worked their entire lives for us to be here. Please be careful when using Google maps, for whatever reason it has taken several people to other places other than mine. I posted a picture of the entrance of my property, hopefully this will help. Hurlys Hideaway is a very nice location located approximately 2 miles from the town of Tillamook. Very close to the beach Sand Lake various Rivers for fishing kayaking swimming Etc. Approximately 4 MI from Netarts Oceanside area, Netarts Bay, Cape Mears. A very nice location to be able to access all of these activities in Tillamook County. My land is Timber, some clearings, we'll see how this goes I'm just getting started. Also, I just learned that the transient tax for Tillamook Oregon is an additional 10% and I hate to do this but I'm going to have to raise my prices $5. If you are coming from Town, I'm 2 mi. from the hospital west on hwy. 131. Look for the purple Minnesota Vikings bus shack with the eggs for sale sign. I also put up a hipcamp sign just up my driveway a bit. If you are coming from the south on Fraiser road, turn right when you come to hwy. 131. I'm less than a quarter mile on your left.

Powder Creek Ranch is 362 acres, nestled into a valley, surrounded by forest in the Oregon Coast Range. The campground is in a secluded meadow next to Powder Creek, a pristine year round stream, perfect for wading and playing in. If you're looking to unplug and escape from the chaos of city life, we are all about peace and quiet and connecting with nature. Each of our 13 extra large campsites offers access to the creek, a picnic table and campfire ring. All sites accommodate RVs as well as tent camping. No hook-ups or potable water available. There are seven (7) creek side sites, one site next to a pond and all have ample space around them so you don't feel crowded. Our newest addition is a cabin overlooking Powder Creek, tucked away by itself. Solar powered. The Ranch has 1/2 mile of Nestucca River frontage where you can swim or fish, whichever floats your boat. Niagara Creek/Pheasant Creek falls is a nearby hiking trail and there are roads as well as deer and elk trails to explore all over the ranch. If you feel like venturing further, the beach is 23 miles away in Pacific City. Tillamook is 25 miles. We also offer pasture raised pork for sale. A variety of sausages (breakfast, chorizo, Italian, Bratwurst and French Garlic links) and pork chops.

This hidden gem is only 1/3 of a mile off the highway yet all you can hear is the flow of the water from Rock Creek which flows along the 2 acres. There is plenty of spots to toss your tent. Personally, I prefer the bank overlooking the stream. Cool your feet on a hot summer day in Rock Creek (the main attraction). Enjoy the evenings around the fire pit for an extra $10/day which includes the firewood. There are complimentary tables, BBQ, chairs. Did you know the coolest porta-party in the galaxy awaits your visit? Yep, true. Attractions: Spirit Mountain Casino is only 4 miles away, The Oregon coast is a 25 minute drive as well as plenty of vineyards. Also enjoy 100+ miles of hiking trails. The trail head is only 1 mile from camp. I'm available to answer any questions you have and look forward to your visit. We ask if the ground is wet (rain for 24+ hrs) you keep your car on the gravel driveway and not drive in the grass (causing ruts). Don't be a turd. Respect the Hideout. If you plan on partying and/or staying up late around the campfire, don't book this. I have neighbors and respect them. Go do your party booking elsewhere, please. Lastly, if you are bringing dogs, you'll most likely get a bit of barking from the dogs to the east for the 1st hour. I just want to be honest and warn you.

Located an hour west of Portland through Oregons wine country. We are located in Scoggins valley which is home to Henry Hagg lake and the Scoggins valley park. The camp site is situated on the bottom of my property a half mile from the lake. It is a fairly secluded campsite with room for up to 6 tents. Nestled in the woods there is a nice verity of sunny and shady spots a campfire spot, a picnic table and a porta potty. Sain Creek recreational area is just off our road at the lake with C- ramp another quarter of a mile around the lake. All of the lake is a park so you have to enter the park to come to our spot.

Overview

Just south of Nehalem Bay State Park, Rockaway Beach has been a popular Seaside resort town for over a century—a train even linked the city to Portland in the early 20th century. Rockaway continues to attract weekending Portlanders and out-of-state visitors, owing to its expansive stretches of sand and easy access to Oregon Coast attractions such as the Cape Meares Lighthouse and the Tillamook Creamery. The town also offers amenities for those passing through and campers stocking up on supplies, with a mix of boutiques, restaurants, and supermarkets.

Tillamook State Forest

Just inland from Rockaway Beach, the Tillamook State Forest offers lots of opportunities for Coastal Range recreation, with plenty of hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian trails plus around 250 miles of off-highway vehicle (OHV) trails. There are also tons of spots to camp, including designated campgrounds for OHV users.

Oregon's North Coast

Rockaway is a good jumping-off point for visiting the rest of the North Coast. Popular spots include Manzanita, Cannon Beach (and the adjacent Ecola State Park), Seaside, and Astoria.

Oregon’s Central Coast

A bit further south along Highway 101, the Central Coast offers a mix of charming cities, rugged coastline, historic lighthouses, and the Oregon Coast Aquarium. There are also a ton of spots to camp here, and some of the area campgrounds are right on the beach.

When to go

July and August are the best months to visit Rockaway Beach and the surrounding area, owing to generally warm weather and low risk of rain. However, this time of year is also high season for camping, so it’s wise to reserve well in advance if you want to secure a campsite, particularly if you’re coming on a weekend. If you don’t mind rain and cooler temperatures, consider coming during one of the Oregon Coast’s two whale-watching seasons (roughly mid-December through mid-January and March through May).
