We have a few hiking trails on Blood brook road one of which you can walk to from our home and it’s only a very short distance away. We are located 3 miles from Lake Fairlee Public beach also known as Treasure Island so bring your swimsuit! We are also within 5 minutes of the Lake Fairlee boat launch so feel free to bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy a paddle around our beautiful lake. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged.

Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!) There is no running water or bathroom on the property so we ask you bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste. The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan. Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding... Heat is provided via a propane Buddy Heater as needed (smoke/carbon dioxide detector is in the cabin.) There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked. Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern. This is a self check-in/out, so expect an easy arrival process (and we'll ask you to please leave the property prepared for the next guest to arrive.)

The site is located behind many large pine trees in the upper part of the field across from our house which is hidden and cannot be viewed from the campsite. You can connect with wifi at the wifi sign near the beginning of the campsite road. We have a few hiking trails on Blood brook road one of which you can walk to from our home and it’s only a very short distance away. We are located 3 miles from Lake Fairlee Public beach also known as Treasure Island so bring your swimsuit! We are also within 5 minutes of the Lake Fairlee boat launch so feel free to bring your canoe or kayak and enjoy a paddle around our beautiful lake. Our house built in 1750s and at one point had hundreds of acres passed down which were passed down from a kings grant The original area was named after the original settlers, the Browns. Our house was also tavern in the beginning. This property has only passed hands through 4 families and remained with the Browns for most of its life. It has stayed as a farm for most of its tenure. This is a 200 year old farm filled with life. There are well groomed areas and other more wild areas. We are on almost 13 acres of land that attracts all forms of natural wildlife. In addition, we have alpacas, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs, a cat and chickens. There is a beaver pond on the lower property. Each site includes a place to sit and eat (ie. picnic table), fire pit and just breathtaking views. Campers can drive into and park at their site. Each site is separate and private from other sites. We are 15 minutes from Highland Mountain Bike Park We are 15 minutes from BankNH Pavillon (concerts) We are 15 minutes from The Weirs in Laconia (Bike Week) We have two outdoor showers that are very rustic and open and the water is the temperature of the surrounding air (bring a bathing suit or something to shower in, there is no privacy fence at this time) This is an active farm that has an operating butcher shop on the premises. We have a farm store offering a variety of items for sale including eggs, honey, rubs and much more. There is a microwave available to the campers in the farm store as well. Each site will be given a bundle of fire wood on the house, additional wood is for sale. You are welcome to participate in farm work. Coffee (from a local NH roaster), tea, hot chocolate and potable water (from the faucet) will be available daily. We are a farm family with young children so large and rowdy or drinking parties are very heavily discouraged.

Toad Hall is a heated, one room, 8x8 cabin in Harrison, Maine, with access to the Bear River for wading and swimming (depending on the river height.) There is a firepit at the cabin, along with one down by the river. Firewood is provided. The lower area by the river is a beautiful place to hang out, pitch hammocks etc... The cabin is near the road, which is great for loading in and loading out, but you will hear/see cars drive by. (Read our reviews, we stand by them!) There is no running water or bathroom on the property so we ask you bring a camping potty and do not bury human waste. The Bear River, which is a beautiful spot to swim and wade in, runs right through the property- but it's also drinking water and a protected watershed. Again, please make sure you have a camping potty plan. Cabin Features: There are 2 cots inside, but also feel free to bring your own pads/bedding... Heat is provided via a propane Buddy Heater as needed (smoke/carbon dioxide detector is in the cabin.) There are solar lights inside, along with a USB plug to charge small devices. It is a clean, warm, dry room, with beautiful light and good ventilation with the windows cracked. Nearby places you will like: We are within walking distance to downtown restaurants and public swimming area on Long Lake. There's also porto potties next to the walkable country store, which has everything you forgot to bring. Also a great ice cream shack, and an above-average watering hole, The Olde Mill Tavern. An amazing stay at a beautiful property! It was a little hard to find- when I clicked the directions option on the booking, it took me to two different places that were both incorrect. The address for the campground is 262 depot street, and the campground map is difficult to find- doesn’t seem to be on the Hipcamp site. Our friends booked the river run site so we were able to take over the whole area, and our dogs could run around and play which was great! Very private and secluded, though it might have felt too close if people at the adjoining site (river run) were strangers. We will definitely be back, so many cool and different options for lodging!!

Had a fantastic time! Kevin was very responsive to questions ahead of time, well maintained site and easy directions for locating it. Only flaw was the amount of noise coming from the motor speedway nearby. The location and views outweighed this minor annoyance since we just opted to put on a playlist to drown it out. The evenings around the campfire were filled with nature sounds and the babbling water. We’d stay here again! Kevin as a great host!

Wow, what a magical little Maine site! It rained while I was here, but that only made the fall colors pop even more. It is such a treat having lake access just steps away. I thoroughly enjoyed my night by the fire and exploring the Hallmark worthy towns on the way from Portland. Don't miss this spot or the gorgeous flower arrangements at the flower stand!

Base camp was a beautiful spot for my son and I to hang out an relax for the night it’s a generous and impeccably maintained property nestled in an incredible grove of trees; and easy to find as it’s tucked just off a quiet road. I was worried about being cold in mid-October but we couldn’t have been more comfortable with the space heater and cozy bedding. Joseph’s communication and hospitality were top notch too! I really enjoyed staying on the bus—it was such a unique experience! I was grateful it was available for a last-minute booking that same night. Carol’s communication and responsiveness were excellent, making check-in smooth even with my late-night arrival. The bus itself was cozy and charming, set right on the farm with a clean outhouse just steps away, equipped with a motion light for nighttime use. Inside, the space was thoughtfully arranged with a small table, chairs, two sofa beds, and foldable mattresses. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, and each window had blinds to block out light. It was a cold night, but I came prepared with sleeping bags, extra blankets, and heating pads. Carol also offers a space heater as an add-on, which I’d recommend during cooler seasons! A pleasant surprise was the power bar which was so useful for charging my devices and the bus also had reliable Wi-Fi! I only stayed one night but wish I’d had more time to explore the farm, there were adorable animals on my way out! I also wish I’d tried the breakfast add-ons as they looked delicious. Overall, it was a memorable stay that I’d definitely recommend. I got to tell all my friends that I slept on a bus and had a great story to tell! Thanks Carol :)

I had a wonderful two night stay on The Bus. My friend joined me the first night, but had to get back to work, so my second night was solo. We both found the accommodation funky and comfortable. As a farm girl, myself, I always love to be around piglets, chickens, dogs, cows… Carol was a very warm, gracious hostess, eager to share her insights on local attractions. Her breakfasts and cheese plate displayed impressive attention to detail, using superb local ingredients and so artfully arranged, include cloth napkins tucked into baskets. I hope I am able to return next year, and have already recommended her place and the area to friends looking for a satisfying roaming destination.

The property is absolutely gorgeous with amazing views of the mountains from anywhere you are. We stayed at River run tent site and LOVED it. The tenting, bathhouse and air bb sites are all so well maintained and cute. We loved that it was so spaced out between sites, making it feel private and more immersed in the beautiful NH mountains. Public beach available to guests that’s right on the river. The little reception cabin had anything you might need and availability to buy wood bundles at anytime. We will definitely be back!
