Nestled on 60 acres you'll find a private campground in a cottonwood grove just across a log bridge over Miner creek. Across the gravel driveway you'll find a second campground that is tucked back in a secluded cottonwood grove, and further down the driveway, you'll find the 3rd campsite. The campgrounds are 5 minutes to the charming historic downtown of Livingston and the Yellowstone River, 20 minutes to Bozeman, 20 mins to Pine Creek Lodge and an hour to Yellowstone National Park. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are friendly to other dogs. Our dogs freely roam the property. **All sites share an outhouse located in the parking area by the trail to camp #2. It is only onsite from May 15 to Oct 15. #1: "Creekside Oasis" campsite has a picnic table, fire ring, a hammock, solar lighting, and a small portable charcoal grill. Although you can car camp at # 1, please note that the camper spot is just off the gravel driveway, and not across the creek where the tent site, picnic table and fire pit are located. #2: "Off the Beaten Path" campsite requires a short 1-2 minute walk on a tight, uneven path through the trees. It is a small campsite with a fire ring, 2 camp chairs and solar lighting. Do NOT rent this tent site if you need to be close to your car. This site is not on the creek. Creek access is down a trail to the left off the parking area. #3: "Not for the Faint of Heart" campsite is a 2-3 minute walk from the parking spot on an uneven, tight trail through the trees. It has a fire ring, two camp chairs, solar lighting, and a small portable grill. Do NOT rent this tent site unless you are ready to explore and do not need to be close to your car. Make sure you arrive before dark because although the trail is lit by solar lights even with headlamps it can be tricky to find your way through the trees. Closed-toed shoes are highly recommended. The creek is not right by the tent site like it is in campsite #1. There is a small break in the bushes that gives creek access. *For all sites we recommend storing your food in your vehicle overnight. *For all sites you need to bring your own firewood and charcoal.

There is a separate shack with an electrical outlet, toaster oven, electric coffee pot, percolator, a single electric burner for the cooking supplies. There are 3 other rentals on this property. Each cabin has 1 - 1.5 acres of private use and are generously spaced out.The Homestead cabin is bordered by Little Trail Creek and the house pasture. There are 5 horses on site.  Absorkee Wilderness is in the back yard with thousands of miles of hiking trails. This is a Glamping experience. There my be wildlife - including bears, elk, deer, bugs or field mice at anytime. We have tried to preserve the Homestead cabin as much as possible to its original state. There are elk, deer, birds and other native wildlife on the property daily.

Camped in spot 3, very beautiful spot! The directions are accurate but finding the pull off was a bit difficult. It is before the bridge; don’t cross the bridge it is behind you. GREAT little spot to stay and the water that runs through makes it a very peaceful area. Highly recommend!

This was a great location for visiting friends in Bozeman. The directions to the site were good and the site was clean, level, completely fenced, and offered electricity and water. We travel with two golden retrievers and after checking with our host, they were allowed to roam freely on the large, fenced property. We are very satisfied RVers and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wild Horse.

The Ellison ranch is the epitome of hipcamping! Big ranch, lots of space and privacy. The dogs so enjoyed it!! They also loved when I would get in the river with them for fun :) Kent and his ranch hand are there if you need them! I've always enjoyed ranchers because I come from ranchers. Good people! The sights around the area are spectacular not to mention the wildlife!! Do not miss Natural Bridge Falls. It isn't far away at all. The drive alone is spectacular! I rode my bike for 13 miles from the ranch down a forest road and it was breath taking. I really enjoyed my time in Big Timber as well. I love small towns where people are polite, helpful and friendly. If you have an rv, Big Timber Tire has an rv dump even after hours.

Tent camping was very nice at camp #3. The site was surrounded by greenery and had access to a small creek. The site is well isolated from the other camp sites. The site we were at was supplied with a table, fire pit, water jug, chairs and a hammock. Very clean property. No trash in sight. We will definitely be coming back to try the other sites.

It was lovely! We were close to Yellowstone and close to town to go out to eat if we didn’t want to cook at camp. The sound of the creek was peaceful. When we first pulled up, we thought we saw a bear, but it was a dog named Louis. He helped us unpack when we first got there and kept us company for a bit. ☺️ There are two ways to get to the site which is by walking over the logs or going on a mini trail path.
