We have an airstream on the property that is for our own personal use and is not for rent.Please keep in mind that you must have your own self-contained RV to stay with us, there is no tent or primitive camping. Water and electric are included but we do not have sewer or trash so please plan to contain and pack out any trash that you create.

The Ellison ranch is the epitome of hipcamping! Big ranch, lots of space and privacy. The dogs so enjoyed it!! They also loved when I would get in the river with them for fun :)

I've always enjoyed ranchers because I come from ranchers. Good people!
The sights around the area are spectacular not to mention the wildlife!! Do not miss Natural Bridge Falls. It isn't far away at all. The drive alone is spectacular!
I rode my bike for 13 miles from the ranch down a forest road and it was breath taking. I really enjoyed my time in Big Timber as well. I love small towns where people are polite, helpful and friendly.
If you have an rv, Big Timber Tire has an rv dump even after hours.

Even though somewhat marred by some from northern fires, the views were still beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. Justin was great, very flexible when a problem with our rv caused us to be a day late. He was very helpful in getting us situated so our camper was level.

This site is amazing! The solitude and views are breathtaking. Long ride up on gravel roads with views the entire way. Justin is very welcoming, friendly, and informative. The starry sky is huge and the sunset is right out your front windows.

Great views, and great host! Justin worked with me when my trip had to be altered due to health and allowed me to flex my stay by a couple days. He’s a fantastic host and will make sure you’re settled and check to see if you need anything.
If you’re there in August, be mindful of the potential for wildfires in the mountains, Justin kept apologizing for the smoke covered mountains, but I absolutely loved it. The light was special as the sun set from the smoke, but I love moody sunsets. I love experiencing the outdoors in all its varying degrees.

Absolutely beautiful place to camp! Our host was so responsive and kind. Easy to follow directions, smooth arrival process. The views from our site were perfect. It’s definitely a quiet area so I wouldn’t recommend for loud groups. Voices definitely carry in the mountains so we encouraged our kiddo try to keep the noise down. Would love to stay here again!

The land and river are beautiful and we enjoyed the solitude and being in the country. You share the area with lots of wildlife, and cows, and should be comfortable with managing barb wire tension fences to access the site. Read the directions carefully to get to the site. Experience with maneuvering camper trailers in tighter spaces and small hills is important.

This is a beautiful spot! The river is only feet away and the both sites are nice and level. It was fun watching the rafters, paddle boaters, small fishing boats launch from the beach area catty corner away and the swimmers and dogs playing in the river and on the beach. Livingston is 4 miles away and the Albertsons closer for pretty much anything you’d need. My young labbie loved chasing the birds on the sandbar. It was one of our best camp spots in the ten years we’ve been camping. Greg, the host, was great to work with. I’d def return. 5 Stars!!

We had a great 5-star stay at Justin’s Hipcamp! We arrived late and he stayed up to show us to our spot. He was super friendly and kind, gave us info about the surrounding area, and even helped us figure out how to get to our next destination. Really appreciated the hospitality! 10/10 we would come back and recommend him to our friends and family.
