The lodge was built then the camping sites, then the Hippie Trailer, which is located near the west woods near the Fairy Forest. Then the Bunkhouse was established, it's just past the barn on the north end of the property. The lodge, where the Airbnb and pool are is centrally located on the land. We rent out the lower level guest quarters for non-campers. There are 2 stocked ponds, miles of trails, pool, Zen garden, farm animals and more. In the 1840's there was a trading post on the property known as Lick Skillet because the owner would set the pans out at night for the dogs to lick. Today, we call it Fanthorn Forest and it's our dream, our haven and our home. Under no circumstances should visitors trespass over to any of the neighboring properties. We have had multiple campers trespassing across the fence to the neighbors property. Neighbors are nice people but because of the multiple incidents and damage done to fences and their property, they did notify me that they will prosecute. Thank you for respecting this policy.

Located in rural Kansas, 12 miles south of Topeka along the path of the Santa Fe Trail. Sites are hidden from the road and secluded. However, we do live on the edge of the railway so the train will make an appearance during your stay. Whether it's a spot to crash before and after a day of skiing, taking a road trip, or simply shaking off cabin fever, this is the spot for you. The pond has a dock to sit on as you watch the sunrise. Bring your fishing gear and cast a line into our well-stocked pond. A table, fire rings, wood, and a smoker grill for cooking are provided for your use. Enjoy a day of fishing or strolling the property and finish off a relaxing day by watching the sunset by the fire. Camping is primitive with no shower facilities. A hidden gem in Topeka, KS. Roughly 44 acres and 41 buildings and cabins for your stay. We have a creek that runs through the property and you can bring your kayak or fishing poles. We also have roughly 3 miles of wooded trails for you to explore. There is a playground for the kids to play on, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball pit. This is very camp at the lake style. Bedding is not included for camp bunk beds. Cabins do not have restrooms built in, but we have shower houses on site for you to use. They do have electricity, heat, and air conditioning. We have grills on site for cooking as well as a bon fire pit to enjoy smore's. Dream Acres at Forest Park is 4 miles away from Lake Shawnee. The World-Famous Topeka Zoo is 5 miles from the park. Lots of historical sights and museums close by also.

I went past the driveway the first time and then doubled back, kate's three pink flamingos next to her mailbox helped me locate it right away. Kate was warm and welcoming and I got to actually feed her goats! Her three dogs were very lovable and curious upon my arrival. The hip camp spot had a nice view of the back 40 and the pond beyond it. Enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend if you're in the Kansas City area.

Walking through the trails was fun. We can’t wait to come back in the spring. The Hobbit Hut was nice but smaller than we thought. The fire pit and animals were great for the kids. We went in early winter with some rain and still had a great time.

Absolutely amazing site! Steven went above and beyond my expectations. We showed up with 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 12, and he pulled no stops entertaining them, including walking his horse down to our campsite for the kids to pet. Be sure to ask him what his record is with the ax throwing!!!😉😆 we will definitely be returning.

The campground was very clean and well kept! The most helpful and hospitable hosts, Spore and Matt are amazing :). They helped us get firewood set up and showed us around. It is so much fun to wonder around and I highly recommend the DM cabin. You get to wake up right next to donkeys and goats (didn’t smell at all) and the diversity of birds was fantastic!

Kate’s Hipcamp site is the best. Did our yearly trip w both kids and their friends. Despite the rain, we had fun. The goats, chickens, and dogs are fun to hang out with. The land is wide open, the barn is a nice shelter when it rains. Would recommend for anyone! Kate is the best host, we have done this 4-5 years in a row now.

Milo Farms really is a magical place. Great hiking trails with little to no poison ivy. That is a big deal for me being severely allergic. All the wonderful people who keep the farm running are so nice and they are always happy to help. As a solo camper, I felt very safe as well.

Overall we had a great time camping here. Kate was friendly and helpful, our campsite was a great spot, secluded with a great view of the stars at night. Our kids had a lot of fun interacting with the dogs and feeding the goats. The only issue we had was with one of the dogs on the site, they woke us up several times at night barking right outside our tent. They also tore into our trash bag that was hanging 3-4 feet off the ground. Make sure to dog-proof your campsite before turning in, and bring some ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
