Amazing 150' tall limestone cliffs rise above river and several spring fed creeks feed into the river. There is hiking galore in the canyons or on the cliffs, fishing in the rivers, or bird watching on the native prairie above the cliffs. Fossil hunters can find a variety of fossilized shells, as well as native septarian and calcite for the rockhounds.

Ideally suited for tent camping, BFH has hammock trees and shaded acreage. Two back-in camper sites with power and water are also available for those who prefer a bit more luxury. Seasonal facilities include an open air, cold water shower and port-a-potty available April through October.

Lake Georgia-Sue is an 85 acre oasis of relaxation and fun. We are located in East Central Kansas, not far from Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, and Wichita. The lake itself is 8 acres, with a lot of fish, swimming, small craft boating, kayaking, and wind surfing.
The property has numerous sites where you can private pasture your horses, work them in our private round pens, and trail ride them in the hundreds of miles of trails that intersect the property. These are VERY large and private campsites with no nosey or loud neighbors.
Sites are for primitive tenting or full RV 30 amp and water hookups. Lakefront sites or forest sites are available. Showers, toilets, AC Clubhouse, playground, ponies, pet pigs, goats, and chickens. Pet friendly. Group camping for up to 25 people. Great for weddings, birthdays, etc
We are just a short drive from four larger state lakes. An abundance of good restaurants are just ten minutes away, and sometimes we take a trail ride to eat Mexican or BBQ in the village close by.

Wathena Riverfront Campground

Wathena Riverfront Campground is a new mom and pop private camping club which is made up of 10 waterfront acres along the main channel/current of the majestic Missouri River. It is about 2.5 miles SW of Wathena, KS and is bordered by Walnut creek to the south and a small creek just north of the boat ramp. We do not have staff on site on a scheduled basis. Campground and riverfont access is for registered guest only, there are no public facilities.
Larger RV sites with electric only (30 amp camper plugs). The nearest RV dump station is at Love's Truck stop in St. Joseph 14 miles to the East. Each site has its own fire ring. You may bring your own wood or buy some at Casey's in Wathena. We often have some self service wood on premises as well (pay through Venmo). There is a hydrant near the elevated deck which is supplied with city water in case you need to fill jugs.
Feel free to fish and enjoy shore fires along the banks of the Missouri River, but do so at your own risk and supervise minors at all times. Remember to bring your own fishing gear for an immersive experience by the water. Experience the tranquility of the riverfront and make the most of your stay.
To help you choose which site is best for you: RV sites 2-6 are our largest RV sites. Tent camping site 12 is our largest overall site and is the only tent camping that you can drive right up to your tent. Sites 9 and 10 are the only 2 that you can park at, walk to nearby river and pitch a tent riverfront. Site 11 is the closest site (along with 7-10) to our tiny home/AirBnB. Site 11 is our only 50 amp service, sites 1-8 are 30 amp camper plugs, sites 9 and 10 share a standard outlet plug. Sites 1-6 and 12 are surrounded by grass, sites 8-11 are surrounded by sand.
There is a fairly steep boat ramp past site 10. There are public boat ramps that are maintained in nearby Elwood, St. Joseph (near the Casino) and Atchison. This ramp can only be used by registered campground guest only and users assume all risk to themselves and property.
The campground is at the original steamboat landing and downtown of the now ghost town of Palermo, KS. Nearby town of Wathena (2.5 miles) is the site of the beginning of the California Trail where settlers were let off at the river NE of town (area and trail is marked) and headed west. The Pony Express started at nearby St. Joseph, MO (9 miles) and passed through the area. It has a museum. Wathena has Star 36 Diner (breakfast, lunch and supper), the legendary Dairy Barn (ice cream and food options), Doniphan Nutrition (drinks), VFW bar, quilting store.

We have beautiful cabins, mini A-frames and full service pull-through RV hookups. Located in Humboldt, KS at the trailhead to the South Wind bike trail. Come and spend some time at a direct-to-consumer dairy farm. Our cows are called Dutch Belted. They are often referred to as Oreo cows. Stay on the farm where the milk is produced, processed, and sold. The farm store is a short distance away and sells a large variety of farm foods.
The farm consists of about 200 acres of pasture and creek bottom. The owner, Loyd, has lived on the farm all his life.
We are right beside what used to be a Navy base... yeah in Kansas.:) The runway still gets used for gliders. So you might see a glider being pulled up while you are here.

Fun Family Farm (FFF) near Robinson, KS is an organic farm where our hobby is creating fun! This entry is to give you an overview of the farm and also in case you want to hold a laid-back, nature-oriented, special event at the FFF, where our mantra is, “nothing will be perfect, but everything will be fine.” So, if you are looking for artificial perfection, look elsewhere.
---For any of the guest houses, bring your own linens or sleeping bags, or rent from us.
---The Blue Bedroom has a double bed in it, as does the Hippie Van. Both have either air conditioners or heaters as needed.
---The Big Yellow Bus has a queen bed and two sets of bunk beds in addition to a wood stove, air conditioner, small refrigerator, and a microwave.
---Braden's Brown Bus has a double bed and a futon, air conditioner, sink and a small refrigerator.
---The Hippie Van is a painted VW van with the seats removed and a double bed built in. AC and Heat are available.

Our delightfully funny 5 acre farmstead was built by Swedish Pioneers in 1876 and we pioneered our Hipcamp on 18 June 2023. We are a safe spot to take refuge for a night… a week… a month. We are in the belly button of continental USA.Dolly Goat believes we are “Delphi”, the Center of the Universe. We have been popular with solo travelers and campers traveling across the country - the San Diego to New York and Alabama to Wyoming types.
Of course, we are a reprieve to anyone needing a break from the outer world.
You just text an hour or so ahead and HONK THREE TIMES for entry. We will open the rusty old gate and show you to your option of areas to stay.
WE ARE ART AND KINDNESS IN PROGRESS.

Proud-to-be Swedish LINDSBORG, three miles from us, is adorned with wooden Dala Horses, shops, art and galleries. Population is only 3,200, but we have a great grocery store with a Swedish aisle, pharmacy, National Geographic Photographer, a Full Service Gas Station and a CASTLE up the road. We like/need more texts or messages than the average bear (as some say). We need to make sure we are around to open the gate and help setup for an especially pleasant stay. You will receive an automated message that gives basics about 48 hours before arrival. Other texts include EMERGENCY INFO, THINGS TO DO, such as the 360 view of Kansas from our local castle, Coronado Heights or the Swedish aisle of White’s Grocery Line.
