6 nights at Murphys Point Alpaca Ranch

Drew is such a gem in the beautiful gem state. We were blessed to get to meet all the animals and enjoy some fresh chicken eggs. Our RV had to go to maintenance shop and so we were in and out of the spot, but Drew was so understanding and it was never an issue. And with a big rig, we had our reservations. It was delightful to have someone understanding host us. We will be returning to Idaho in the coming months and would not hesitate to book again.

1 night at Sandhill View Ranch Campsites ⛺️

This was the first stop on my best friend's 7-state 30th birthday road trip, she had been driving us straight from 8:30 AM til we arrived here right before sunset, and it turned out to be everything we needed after the long journey! Tyler got everything warm, clean, and comfy for us before we showed up, and even shoveled paths and the picnic table area for us (quite a task, given the ~5" or more of ice-topped snow). The outhouse was also very clean, and not even particularly cold, somehow. We had a nice dinner with silly YouTube videos, thanks to the fast WiFi and nice little TV, and scoured our dishes clean with the snow. The couch and bed were both very comfy, and we both had plenty of space to sleep in the latter (definitely could've fit a third person with ease). Perhaps the best part was how beautiful our surroundings were in the morning; the Sun rising over the vast, misty, white landscape felt being in a modern cowboy dream scene, and you can see all the way to the distant city from the door of the airstream (which was also a pretty sight at night). Tyler told us we were the first Winter guests they've had, and we both give the experience full marks and would definitely recommend it to everyone else!

Weekend Trip to Wildedge Ranch Yurt

Our family enjoyed a winter weekend at Wildedge Yurt to celebrate a birthday. The kids had a blast sledding and playing in all the fresh snow on the hills around the yurt. The yurt itself was very clean, warm, and comfortable. The porta potty was also fresh and clean. We parked in spot #2 near the porta potty. It wasn't a very far walk at all to reach the yurt. Basically just down a small slope from the road. Spot #1 is a bit further, about a 5 minute walk. We brought suitcases, totes, and a cooler instead of backpacks. If you go that route, definitely park in spot #2, or at least unload up by the porta potty. Wade was extremely easy to work with and responded to my questions quickly. He also kept in touch with us about snow levels and access. It's beautiful there! It was a weekend full of great memories and our kids are already asking when we can return! One thing to note: There are 2 roads named Timberline Dr. off Banks/Lowman Rd. If you just plug in the address in Apple Maps it'll take you to the first road (coming from Boise), which is not correct. Don't take that one. Instead, follow the written directions Wade sends you and go to the 2nd Timberline Dr. that starts out as Huston Rd. that is just a bit further down Banks/Lowman Rd. Wade plows that road in the winter as it's basically his really long driveway passing by some summer cabins. Enjoy your stay!

The town of Middleton is just up the road 3 miles and there is a great one-lane train bridge just a mile away that crosses the Boise river where some seasonal fishing and swimming can be enjoyed in a natural setting. Our place is 28 acres. Do not drive into the upper field, there is a stop sign on that gate. It is irrigated, and you could get stuck and cause property damage. Our niche is that we only host one group of people at a time. Whether you are a solo camper or a group of 50, you will never have to compete for space with another group. This also allows for increased safety for single travelers and elderly. We are open year-round but make sure your tires can handle our terrain. Our driveway is immediately off Ontario Heights Rd. Google tells people to turn on Grand View Lane. Do not do this as there is no access to our property from that direction. We have a 300-gallon trash bin next to our mailbox that says camp host. Our driveway is immediately across the road from there. The gate is latched but not locked on the left side. Initial fee covers a spot for one sleeping structure. Add any additional tents/rv/vehicles used for sleeping. You can add extra sleeping structures under the extra tab. Included in options to buy is RV power hook up and EV overnight charging. A small somewhat muddy creek runs through the front of the property year-round. The water is clearer during the winter and spring months. Cleared spots in this area are small so only tent camping in this area is recommended. It is densely wooded. We have goats in this field, they are shy. Oregon has an invasive poisonous weed called Water hemlock. If you camp in this area, familiarize yourself with this plant so you can avoid it. Camping areas have been cleared of this plant but if you wander along the creek you will encounter it. Areas people have liked are up top by the top field gate, or down in the field that our large chicken coop is in. There are no animals in those areas, but chickens do make noises. Up top we have roosters that make noise about 5 am. The lower field on the right is the quietest. If you have children camping near the house is recommended. The bridge at the entrance to our property is 11' wide, which should allow a standard 8' RV to pass into the property. RV hook up is right off the driveway by the power pole. Ground is in its native form and only gets minimal rain. Some weeds and goatheads may be present. Look us up on Facebook under Micone Ranch.

The campsite is perched up near the large pond about 1000 feet off the main road (which you may see 5 cars a day on or the occasional horseback rider). And not to worry, there is a decent driveway that will bring you within 100 feet of the campsite, a pickup or 4 wheel drive is not required. Spring has Sprung! The trees are blooming along with the wild flowers and the pond is full, an oasis for passing ducks and geese and other wildlife. Once you've established yourself enjoy a nice walk around the pond, cast a line off the pedal boat (catch and release), or enjoy a picnic on the island with the ducks and geese. Peace and quiet is all to be had here (other than the occasional bull frog croaking.) But if adventure is what you seek, adventure you will have! Known as the gateway to Hells Canyon, there are many things to do within 5 minutes to 1 hours drive. Drop into Midvale to hit the Weiser River Trail via hiking, horseback, or mountain bike (electric bikes too). Embark on an off road adventure with your UTV/ATV, or motorcycle up the nearby mountains to Sturgill Peak Lookout where you can see 100 miles in every direction. Schedule and excursion in Hells Canyon (deeper than the grand canyon) or take a dip at the local Mundo hot spring. Fishing and floating can be had at the near by Weiser river or boating at Crane Creek Reservoir. Or maybe you're looking for a base camp for hunting season. Again, the recreational possibilities are endless! Bring your supplies and stay at camp or take a short bike ride/drive into town for some food at the Coffee Cabin or a drink at the local tavern. Maybe you forgot something? the Midvale Market has you covered, and they have adult beverages too, open 7 days a week. Midvale also has a nice little park and a local swimming pool. Site guidelines Respect the locals and they will return the favor. We have a great small town community that looks out for one another. You can ride recreational vehicles on most of the local roads if you choose to bring them, just be respectful of the local laws and courteous to the neighbors who live on dirt roads by keeping the dust down when you pass by. No riding off trails/roads, especially on our property! Please bring life jackets or appropriate floatation devices for children who plan to play or swim in the pond. Explore the property and feel free to pick up wood and branches from the ground for the fire pit, but please do not remove or cut down any trees, and keep fires contained in the fire pit and do not burn when it's windy. Bedding is NOT provided at this time. There is a sheet Please bring sleeping bags or desired bedding for the covered queen bed. We also just built a brand new outhouse! We are slowly adding more amenities and plan to build an outdoor shower next. There is an extra tent under the bed for the kiddos or other guests, also a pop up shad for the warm afternoons, it covers the deck nicely.

With 360-degree views from the property, we invite you to set up camp and enjoy. You can have your boat at the dock of the Owyhee Reservoir in 25 minutes - or simply take a drive to enjoy the views, paddleboard, fish, swim, hike, hunt, off-road, and more. You'll find a local hot spring along the way to the Reservoir. Local restaurants and grocery options are as close as 20 minutes, and one burger joint even delivers! The sunrise over the valley and sunset over Mitchell Butte and the Owyhee Mountains just cannot be beat. Occasional wind storms crop up, so be prepared for that! Gentle pets are welcome. A round pen for horses/mules *may* be available for larger four-legged friends. Most do get cell phone service, and if you need anything - we are happy to help!

There's an onsite Farm Store stocked with beef, lamb, farm-fresh eggs, and seasonal produce. 🚙We have 3 RV parking sites nestled on an acre of land with an indoor riding arena. Each site has 3 individual 30/50 amp electrical hookups and 3 water hydrants. Parking is on a leveled gravel driveway with fenced-in grass pastured on either side of your site. You can pull in or back into the sites, with plenty of room to maneuver. We are surrounded by farms and during the spring and summer there is tractor traffic during the day. The Snake River is just 10 miles south of us and Lake Lowell is 5 miles to the North. Boise is an easy 30-minute drive downtown. 🐶As much as we love dogs, currently no dogs are allowed. In the early 1900's three sheep ranchers--August Broderson, James Fisher, and Isaac Leighton--each purchased residential lots in Weiser and built brick homes designed by Idaho architect H. W. Bond. This property, which we named Butterfield Farms, was built in 1915 by August Broderson, who emigrated from Germany to the US in 1892. The Broderson family lived here for decades and were a prominent family in Weiser history. Learn more about this land:The campsite is located on our small family-run farm in Weiser, ID. Our 2 1/2 acre historic farm is located in the heart of town, so you have the best of both worlds: easy access to town amenities, and a restful retreat in nature at the end of the day. Grocery store, seasonal farmer's market, coffee shop, eateries, library, and downtown shops are all within easy walking or biking distance. Weiser is known world-wide for its annual fiddle festival in June! Our campsite is within walking or biking distance of all of the Fiddle Week activities. Campsite is located underneath a large shady oak tree. Campers are welcome to use the fire pit when fire bans are not in effect. Electric hookups are located immediately next to the campsite, as well as a non-potable water source. Note that we are located in town and campers are required to observe quiet hours between 10pm and 8am and be courteous of neighbors.
