SawtoothMonkey

The Sawtooth Monkey is a fictional character who lives in the Sawtooth mountains in Idaho, this creature is a crossbreed of a salmon and baby Bigfoot.  Breeding and divine intervention took place circa 1989 when the 1989 fire hit the SF region of the Payette river. Baby Bigfoot had no where to go but the river, he was saved by a school of salmon who by  Deus ex machina and the Idaho river God, Beeraspirits  transformed Bigfoot and the Alpha 15 pound papa salmon into the Sawtooth Monkey.  When SM hit puberty he developed a skin condition and an appetite for coconuts.  He is currently friendly but a nuisance, because of his skin problems he is known for stealing ointment, lotions and sunscreen.  Also, because of his love for coconuts, he is known for steal those too.  Should you confront or come in contact with this elusive creature, please don't feed him anything but coconuts.

The hot springs were only 1000 feet from the hipcamp property down the road. Easy place to come and enjoy the river and take a soak. We were blown away by how beautiful the area was!

The just brought in the port-a potty so it was brand new and super nice!

The river was flowing fast while we were there! Loved falling asleep to the sound of the river:)

Jerusalem Valley Idaho

Our property is located 20 miles north of Boise. 

There are endless off-roading/dirt biking/snowmobiling opportunities out our back door.

The Payette River offers sections from Class 1 to Class 5+ for those interested in kayaking, rafting or tubing. 

Easy access to Hwy 55 and into the parking spot.

This is just out back in the corral. The mountains in the back to have public land access. We suggest having a property map/app for the area, as some is private and other public. OnX Hunt has a decent one.

Garden Valley River Access Campsite

The address to the house next door is 519 MiddleFork Rd, Garden Valley, ID 83622. That will get you to the property. The property is right after 519 it is a large open lot that leads down to the river. There is a black military vehicle parked on the very end close to the house. 

So there are two sections 1st is a flat section where you have plenty of room to set up tents and RVs. It is right off the road, and any car can get to the site with ease. The 2nd section is more wooded and has access to the river. You are welcome to tent camp here it is just getting an RV down there and out can be a challenge I don't recommend it. Also, the bridge across the river is the neighbors and so is the property across the river.  There are roughly 4 campsites on the property but can camp where you want really. 

Large flat spot above the river that has access to the water. Half of the property is a flat spot for RV's and tents the 2nd half is more green, woody and has access to the river. There is a deeper spot in the river that is 3-4 feet deep and is perfect to lounge in during the hot parts of the summer. Please pack out what you pack in and keep the place nice for the next camper. Upland Wilderness Ranch

The camp site has scenic river views and is quiet.  The setting is unique in that behind you are 1000+ acres of pristine upland sage range land with no humans.  The river feels wonderful come hot summer for rafting, floating, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and relaxing. A short drive along river and you can find class I - class 5 rapids, or perhaps you want to soak in the geothermal hot springs, go paddle board in the nearby reservoir or simply sleep and star gaze!

You can book a  raft trip or bring your own raft or inner-tubes. You can ride your horses or go fishing. Hike scenic mountains and see herds of deer.
