Sagewinds Farm is the first certified organic white sage farm in the world. At night the stars are magnificent and the milky way is visible...there are meteor showers several times a year. Permanent residents in the barn are the 2 mini horses to visit and four wonderful dogs. The nights are always cool and usually below 60% so be prepared to sleep well, even if the days are hot. There are visiting animals that past thru and could include, coyotes, bobcats, Coatis, foxes, rabbits, quail, hawks and mountain lions. There are also some snake and lizards. We do have rattlesnakes. About the property
Our property is in the high desert above Borrego Springs at 4,300'. We border Anza Borrego State property which means you’ll be adjacent to plenty of beautiful open spaces. There are many trails in the park which lead to the desert floor from our fence line. On a clear day you can see the Salton Sea from the bottom of the property.
We have great access to nearby points of interest including Borrego Springs which is 20 miles away, Anza Borrego State Park which is adjacent to Julian at 40 miles away, Palomar observatory which is 40 miles away and Cuyamaca Lake which is fantastic for fishing only 45 miles away. If you need to pop into town for any supplies or services you can access Borrego Springs (20 miles away), Julian (40 miles away), Ramona (45 miles away), and Temecula (50 miles away).
We have 3 horseshoe pits and 9 frisbee golf baskets for recreation onsite and we have incredible dark skies for excellent stargazing. You may see many different forms of wildlife including mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, bob cats, racoons, badgers, and rattle snakes. You will see many rabbits, squirrels and tons of birds of all kinds! We are really the perfect location for those who love the outdoors!
Owners live on site but we like to greet, meet, and then leave you to your stay! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns though.
About the listing
Our listing is for tents, vans and truck campers, trailers, or RV’s and we can accommodate rigs up to 25ft in length. A few of our 5 sites are pull through sites on dirt and may require some leveling. All sites are dry camping only as we do not have any hookups, though there are two bathrooms and water available in a centralized area on the property.
You can expect High desert and scrub brush environments. Any vehicle should be able to access our property but 4-wheel drive vehicle might make it a little easier to access areas on the outside perimeter of the property. While staying with us you can expect some noise from coyotes, raven….wind and a little highway traffic on s22.

We have three campsites and a cabin on about an acre of land. If you'd like to hang out on the property, we offer a table and chairs with each campsite to lounge in while enjoying the fresh air and nature. There are also a couple of hammocks available.
In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements.
Fun Fact:
Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer!
Today there are just a few bees in the area.

Sagewinds Farm is the first certified organic white sage farm in the world. Permanent residents in the barn are the 2 mini horses to visit and four wonderful dogs. The nights are always cool and usually below 60% so be prepared to sleep well, even if the days are hot. About the property
Our property is in the high desert above Borrego Springs at 4,300'. We border Anza Borrego State property which means you’ll be adjacent to plenty of beautiful open spaces. There are many trails in the park which lead to the desert floor from our fence line. On a clear day you can see the Salton Sea from the bottom of the property.
We have great access to nearby points of interest including Borrego Springs which is 20 miles away, Anza Borrego State Park which is adjacent to Julian at 40 miles away, Palomar observatory which is 40 miles away and Cuyamaca Lake which is fantastic for fishing only 45 miles away. If you need to pop into town for any supplies or services you can access Borrego Springs (20 miles away), Julian (40 miles away), Ramona (45 miles away), and Temecula (50 miles away).
We have 3 horseshoe pits and 9 frisbee golf baskets for recreation onsite and we have incredible dark skies for excellent stargazing. You may see many different forms of wildlife including mountain lions, coyotes, foxes, bob cats, racoons, badgers, and rattle snakes. You will see many rabbits, squirrels and tons of birds of all kinds! We are really the perfect location for those who love the outdoors!
Owners live on site but we like to greet, meet, and then leave you to your stay! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns though.
About the listing
Our listing is for tents, vans and truck campers, trailers, or RV’s and we can accommodate rigs up to 25ft in length. A few of our 5 sites are pull through sites on dirt and may require some leveling. All sites are dry camping only as we do not have any hookups, though there are two bathrooms and water available in a centralized area on the property.
You can expect High desert and scrub brush environments. Any vehicle should be able to access our property but 4-wheel drive vehicle might make it a little easier to access areas on the outside perimeter of the property. While staying with us you can expect some noise from coyotes, raven….wind and a little highway traffic on s22.

In addition, our SHARED amenities include an outdoor kitchen that includes a sink with hot water, 2 mini fridges,(full at times, extra coolers available) coffee maker, a two burner stove, a griddle, a toaster oven, blender, tea kettle, and a few pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. Also here to SHARE is a Propane fire pit and BBQ area. The bathroom now includes a flush toilet, sink and shower. We are continuously making improvements.
Fun Fact:
Harbison Canyon was named after John Stewart Harbison - aka the King of the Bee Keepers. He arrived with over one hundred colonies of bees in 1874 and within 7 years he became the world's largest honey producer!

This place is amazing! The view from the Happy Hilltop Site is beautiful, and it feels very peaceful and quiet. The ranch has everything - including a shared kitchen area with a fridge, sink, and everything you need for cooking. Friendly dogs visited my site, and there were also goats, sheep, cats, and chickens around. I definitely recommend his place, especially for longer stays!

Upon my arrival, Lexi generously gifted me with an upgrade to the unreserved Creekside Campsite. My experience there was nothing short of profound. The year-round gurgling, 10-foot wide creek may be unique to San Diego county campsites. While the beneficial sounds of flowing water are well-known in the contemplative practices, combining this with the visual perception of it, the feelings of wind and sun on the skin, and Nature's smells one becomes immersed in an exteroceptive experience, par excellence, that synergized with my interoceptive awareness to drive its extensions beyond all previous boundaries: a novel bliss that can accurately be described as paradise. She has accented these natural delights with beautiful human creations--an elegant 6-foot long wind mobile and the most beautiful lace tablecloth I have ever seen. While I surely could have remained there happily ever after, other needs drove me away. Nevertheless, having been away from there for three nights now, I can attest that the interoceptive enhancement still remains and may be permanent. Therefore, anyone practicing the contemplative arts will certainly benefit from this amazing exteroceptive experience, even if for only a single night. Lexi is to be adored for sharing this marvelous treasure of hers, and the rest of us should certainly avail ourselves of this unique opportunity to advance our consciousnesses with at least a night's visit to paradise that will enhance your insight about self.

Beautiful location and friendly host, we’d definitely stay here again! There were nice trails and it was so quiet and private. The drive on the dirt road to the campsites is a bit steep and uneven in places, which was fine for our SUVs, but we had friends with smaller cars (Prius, Mazda 3) who couldn’t comfortably make it due to their low clearance so we just shuttled them in our SUVs. We’d recommend making sure you bring a car with higher clearance.

This is our first Hipcamp experience and it was a pleasantly unique one. We were greeted by the sweetest pack of dogs and our sites were clean and easy to find. Our group of 12 booked sites 3 & 4 to be close together. The hot shower & toilets were just a few mins away fr our sites. The camp hosts, Joel & Jessica, were very helpful and showed us around. The owner, Sean, communicated thru the website and answered all my questions in a timely manner.
The kids (ages 6-17) loved visiting all the animals: feeding the goats, holding the kitties in the cathouse, petting the calm big dogs, hiking on the trails, playing at the obstacle course, & they really loved the zip line. There are trails on the property ranging fr easy to difficult. On our night walk to stargaze, there is a beautiful view fr the Hilltop site.
Having the dogs around left a big impression as we’ve never had guard dogs at a campsite before. Even though there were times (late in the night) where there was a stretch of barking at something in the hills, it felt very comforting to know they were out there doing their job. It was interesting to hear them communicating to each other from end to end of the property and it was actually not a bother for any of us. It became almost like white noise to fall asleep to. We felt honored to have most of them hang out with us and at the end of the trip we were all saying “We miss the dogs!”
So we definitely look forward to coming back and we recommend this place for families.

I absolutely loved my stay at Wild Seeds Ranch on the Nomad site! The option for electricity was a complete game changer—it kept my phone and lights fully charged and made my stay so much easier and more comfortable.
Lexi is a wonderful hostess! She was incredibly attentive to all my texts and made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The hospitality here is unmatched, and I was so grateful for the invite to the community Thanksgiving feast. Everyone was so warm and welcoming—it truly felt like being part of a little family.
Waking up to the gorgeous views each morning was such a treat. The sound of the birds and the peaceful rhythm of ranch life made the entire experience feel authentic and refreshing, especially compared to my usual day-to-day in the city.

Rugged and remote location with lots of space to explore. The old dam is super cool. I spent two nights there and had fun adventures. Hosts are very cool with an interesting backstory. The dirt road is pretty steep in parts, so you gotta know what you're doing with a heavy vehicles.

Dante was great host who offered firewood and use of a canoe. This was a first tent camping trip for my two sons and when it was time to pack up, they both said they wish we had an extra night. We all caught a fish. The relaxing sound of the frogs and owls was perfect. Unzipping the tent door to the view of the lake in the morning was awesome. We saw ducks, turtles, egret, along with a few of Dante’s goats. Very peaceful and remote.
