Weekend Trip to Zephyr Mountain Avocado Grove

Shane was a wonderful and kind host. The site is perched high up on the side of a mountain with beautiful valley and snowcapped mountain views. Our kids enjoyed seeing the chickens and pigs. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Incredibly sweet spot smack dab in the center of wine country! We parked our 55 Flying Cloud no problem after turning into the property (good heads up on spotting the entrance - see the pictures they post on that..). Outstanding value for a boutique campground with full hookups! Would return in a minute.

Baby Oaks was great! We came with two families of four, and it was more than enough space, and felt like a private little paradise. The kitchen pots and pans and grills were rusted, so we were glad we brought our own cooking equipment. Aside from that, it was perfect! We’ll come back.

Great spot! Safe, easy to get around from and excellent communication from the host, which was speedy and so helpful as we were stuck for a spot to stay for the night after another place fell through.

Wonderful stay with the kids. Arrived midday and called Jim (as instructed on the website). There was only one other camper so he gave us a choice of the remaining sites. I had my two young kids so he recommended one of the sites next to a big open area for them to play and roam. We had a great time meeting all the animals and exploring the camp. This place is truly loved and cared for by Jim and it really shows!!!! Very family friendly and I felt super safe the entire stay. We will be back with husband and son next time.

We had such a great time here! I would highly recommend for everyone to check this place out. My family had a van, an RV, and a couple tents at our campsite. Everything was great for everyone. We had many animal visitors throughout the weekend to check in on us, the alpaca was probably my favorite. We did the animal excursion, 10 out of 10 everyone should book it when they're visiting. We also were able to do goat yoga while we were there; It was so much fun.

We have stayed at many Hip Camp sites over the years, even some in Hawaii. Split Rock is by far my favorite camping site ever. The views are beautiful, the land is well cared for, the host responds quickly to all messages, the staff is friendly, the site was private and easy to get to, and all the additional farm animals seemed used to dogs and humans. It was an amazing unforgettable experience that I can't wait to return back to.

This is one of the most breathtaking camping sites in Southern California. The spacious area allows for setting up large tents without any issues. The host, Shane, is incredibly friendly, responds promptly, and offers fresh organic eggs for purchase. I will definitely visit again!

Honestly I love this spot so much and would come back again and again. I’m kinda surprised my rialta made it through here as it can be steep at points and has lots of grooves in the land. Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms. Freckled throughout the hillsides are thousands of humongous granite boulders, offering a prehistoric feel to the landscape. Above all, Splitrock offers unrivaled views. Over 40 miles of coastline includes views to Point Loma, the Carlsbad power station, and the Pendleton Hospital. To the northeast are views of near 11K foot snowy peaks of San Jacinto and San Gorgonio, with rolling hills of De Luz and Fallbrook in the foreground.

Located in the heart of Temecula Valley Wine Country, you'll be minutes away from 50 wineries. Situated down a quiet rural lane, and secluded by lush California pepper trees, your glamping spot is an ideal getaway for wine lovers who prefer to get away from the city hustle. The camp area has seven spots that can be occupied by other glampers, and has a common use firepit with Adirondack chairs for those who want to compare notes about their wine tasting adventures. Plenty of onsite parking. In the morning, grab your coffee and step outside to watch the hot air balloons drift overhead. During the day, sample local vino from the 50 nearby wineries. In the evening, nosh at one of the great restaurants in Old Town Temecula, and then return to camp for sunset views and fireside relaxation. You should know that there are two free-roaming Blue Heelers who live on the 5-acre property and make regular visits to the camp area. Visiting dogs that socialize well with other dogs are welcome by us and by Molly and Taz as well, but please be honest with yourself and us about your dog's temperament, and book elsewhere if there is ANY chance of canine conflict with our very energetic pups. Also, Molly does not trust very small children (we think there was an incident), so if you have small children, we ask that you keep them from interacting with our Heelers.

It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events. Cold Creek Estates

Cold Creek is a unique 112-acre property in the San Bernardino National Forest. Because of its location in a 3,200 foot elevation, it's colder than the Southern California deserts and warmer than the cold mountains above us. Our temperatures rarely exceed 90F and rarely drop below 40F. We have plenty sun and about two to three days of snow every winter. A year-around creek keeps everything green and fresh around the year. We are the second owners since 1913, and operate a small organic orchard on the property. We are most famous for our honey, peaches and figs, but also grow apples, pears, persimmon, blackberries, greens, bay leaf, white sage and more.For years , we were WWOOF hosts (look it up ;-) and resisted opening up Cold Creek to traffic associated with daily camping arrivals, but we finally found the perfect spots for visitors to park their RVs, spend a quiet night and visit the orchard by foot.We are now excited by the prospect of focusing on expanding our micro-farming and inviting campers to look over our shoulders.
