Splitrock Farm and Retreat started in January 2021 after a global search of a place to set roots, live off the land, and create an amazing place for recreation, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Splitrock Farm Splitrock was part of a 160-acre avocado farm that prospered from 1970 to 2017, generating over 1million pounds of avocados per year until the previous owners switched off the water in 2017. Ben purchased 101 acres in 2021 with plans to harvest the dead avocado trees for firewood and replant with organic, sustainable crops such as grapes, citrus trees, and flowers. Splitrock's attraction comes from its unique groves, magnificent granite boulders, and sweeping vistas. Mixed within the avocado groves are several ancient groves and solitary trees that include 200 foot tall pines, hundreds of old oaks, and soaring palms.     One of the last remaining undeveloped parts of Southern California, De Luz Heights is located adjacent to the Cleveland National Forest, and the Santa Margarita River (just a few miles from the campsite). On my 60 acres, there are no major roads going through or next to the property. My land is 13 miles from the Pacific ocean and enjoys a relatively mild yearly climate. Giant boulders provide topographical relief and offer platforms from which to enjoy the view of the nearby Santa Margarita Mountains. The valley views are filled with olive and avocado groves, vineyards, and horse ranches. The Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base is nearby, so you might hear some artillery in the distance on some occasions. The campsite embraces all the comforts of "glamping": a hot shower, composting toilet, beds with sheets provided, gas grill with a stovetop, pots and pans, kitchenware, a sink, picnic table, shaded deck, sofa, lounge chairs, and propane fire pit. The basics are provided: toilet paper, paper towels, purified drinking water, towels, sheets, cooking oil, etc. Campers need to bring their own blankets. I've created a network of hiking trails for especially fit hikers looking for a more rigorous hike than the nearby Santa Margarita River Trail. My trails lead through creek beds, over boulders, through rocky crags, with views of the Pacific ocean on a clear day. Hikers on my trails need to wear proper hiking boots with good traction. Sections of my trails will require bouldering with hands and feet. Expect to have fatigued quadriceps, some scrapes, and a sweaty hat brim. The campsite is accessible with a two-wheel drive vehicle; I drive a Kia Forte out there regularly. However, some tips when driving a two-wheel drive car: when going uphill on a dirt road, try to keep some momentum of about 12-15 MPH. If you stop and try to start again, your tires will spin out. If that happens, just reverse down the hill, and try it again with more momentum.

You are also a 15-30 minute drive to explore the amenities of the local cities, wine country and 45 minutes to the beach. The 21 acre property provides amazing views as well as biking and hiking along the local fire and farm roads. We offer Camping supplies such as tents or chairs if needed for a small rental fee as well as the ability to purchase fresh avocados, citrus or Farm fresh eggs from the grove. Dogs allowed on leash only and be familiar with Southern California's indigenous wildlife proper protocol, when accompanied by your canine. The camping area resides on the North side of the Via Cordoniz access road, starting at Deadwood Dome site and the Detour N De Luz sign at top of staircase, ranging North West 3/4 of the mountain up, and 10 acres left. Please be mindful of the property markers, and respect our neighboring property lines. You are responsible for your own fitness in hiking the inclining trails and staircases. Hiking or walking sticks are highly recommended. A shared cooking area, has been cleared, providing use of the propane gas grill (campers must supply own 1 lb green canister), standard size cooler, small fire extinguisher, and carved or cut seating. Nearby, a shared pit toilet with a small 5 gallon black solar shower bag, shower toga, toilet paper, glass wash basin and pouring bottle-for minor freshening, vanity mirror and 5 gallon water jug, refilled daily- or more frequently, if needed, all located in a pallet wood stall. Two additional 3 persons sleeping tents are both folded and stored at the cooking area, for guest use.     We loved camping here! We backed into lot 16 and had a great view of the grounds and mountains around us. The site was clean and spacious. The bathroom facility is wonderful! It was generally a very very quiet location with the exception of occasional noise from neighboring private properties, but that is no fault of the owners of SoCal Campground. We are excited to come back again!

    It was our families first time at this campground and it did not disappoint! We stayed at the oak grove communal camp spots and there were plenty of spots available to choose from. I recommend the early check in option to get a prime spot! The farm and goat experience for the kids was a hit! Also the ability to hike or bike around was fun for the family. We will definitely be coming back!

    Great camping. We were under big Oak trees so even if was hot weather you didn't feel it also I think there is ocean breeze or kind of wind that make it ever cooler. Great areas. Animals is just cherry on the top. I like outdoor shower and we still had a signal there. everyone liked it. kids want to go back . That is huge accomplishment. Only things is that is for new people confusing to find which spot is available. There are sign but no map around. Second time you will know for sure.

    My stay at Dome Home was such a wonderful experience. The dome itself was cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up with everything I needed. It felt private and peaceful, yet had all the little touches that made it feel welcoming and cared for. The surrounding nature was beautiful and made it easy to relax and unwind.     We stayed at Peacefully Valley recently and had an amazing time. There’s area is so large, you can fit well over 20 ppl, we had 11 ppl in our group. There’s also a kitchen which is extremely useful for large groups. The storage space helped keep us organized and there are also some essential items in case you need them. We reserved some 3 bell tents, beds, cots, and beddings. Having this option was convenient and saved us a ton of time, cut our set up time in half. The bathroom is a near by and the most clean I’ve ever seen at a campsite with a flushing toilet and a sink with running water. There’s a shower one camp site over with hot and cold water. Our kids aren’t use to wild animals, so when they heard a pack of coyotes fighting, they all got scared and started screaming. They’ll learn. The mountain top views were great and I could stare at the stars all night!! We also got the exclusive animal encounter, there are goats, an alpaca, baby goats, chickens and pigs. The kids had a great time. Overall we had a great experience. Everyone on staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be coming back.

    We camped at the Granite Tabernacle & it was nice to have that private loop! My dog was definitely worn out from walking around the trails. It was a great little camping spot, far enough from the big city but close enough to resources if you needed some supplies. The Tabernacle rock was a cool little fire pit area & where we spent the peak afternoon hours to avoid the sun haha morning viewa were spectacular, especially when the fog hovers over the mountains. I only wish the goats were out & about during our visit!

    The view over looking the city was amazing. The small shelter was perfect for getting some relief from the heat/sun during the day and protection from the wind at night. The hand washing station and porta toilet was a plus. The only downside to the whole trip (which are out of the host’s control) there were some coyotes howling at night and the road up to the campsite was steep and on a cliff. With that being said as a woman camper the campsite felt safe, and Shane made sure that we knew where the site was when first arriving. Very cool spot!

    It's so nice to "meet you" my name is Taryn and my hubby's name is Anson. We are parents to two-year-old twins, so saying we have our hands full is an understatement. Anson is a folk and blues musician and has traveled all around the U.S. playing his music and I work for a children's book company. One day, we decided that we wanted to live the rest of our lives hosting live music, and events and that's how Rock & Tree began. As the idea grew, we wanted to create an Open Canvas so that the guest could dream up what they wanted on our stage. We moved to the Inland Empire from Santa Monica, in 2017 with the dream of building an open canvas event space out of sustainable, re purposed and natural materials. Our mission is help enrich the culture of Perris, CA by providing a unique venue that takes you away from the hustle and bustle and takes you to a wonderland of nature surrounded by rocks and eucalyptus trees. Anson and I continue to build everything ourselves with the help of our friends and family every now and again. Our process is that we source as much lumber using the dead Eucalyptus trees we have here on the 36 acre property and we are constantly trying to come up with innovative ways to use recycled and donated materials in the venue. During the pandemic, we turned our venue into a campground so we could open up the venue to people who needed to get out into nature. We are now open for daily camping and private events.     This was originally a Girl Scout camp called Singing Pines back in the 30’s. You’ll see as you roam around some of the original buildings and structures. It hasn’t been in operation as a Girl Scout camp for over 30 years. The neighbor camp bought the lease but haven’t had the funds to revive it yet. DIRECTIONS: Take Exit for Angeles Crest Hwy (Hwy 2) from the 210 Go North, up the mountain for 29 miles Turn left on Sulpher Springs Rd Go about a mile and you will see a Singing Pines sign up on a hill on the right side. There is a white gate which is usually open but if it's closed go ahead and open it. Go down that driveway about a mile and turn left at the fork. Follow that road down and around the lake staying to the right. Once you passed the lake there will be a little uphill and the location is on the left. Learn more about this land: The Skoolie is a converted short bus with two love seats that convert to an RV queen bed, sink, stove top, dinette, and over head lights. Outside is a private meadow with a short walk to a small lake. You can bring your fishing gear. It's stocked with Bass and Bluegill. Outside the Skoolie is a picnic table, fire pit (firewood $10 a bundle) and a hammock. Up the hill, a very short walk is the private campground toilet facility. This is not shared with anyone else. No cell phone reception no linens bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. You can charge your phone in the Skoolie for a sunrise alarm or just to take pictures.
