The Crystal Cove Beach Cottages are a set of 16 unique beachfront cottages available for rental at Crystal Cove State Park.

Each historic cottage, built between the 1920s and 1940s, has been restored and furnished to retain its original architectural style and ambiance with features including gorgeous wood interiors, oceanfront decks, teak patio furniture, sunken bathtubs, and sunset views. If you’ve ever wanted a time portal to a 1950s Southern California beach camping trip, look no further than the 13 individual cottages and 3 dorm-style cottages where you can book a private room. All cottages have electricity, a microwave, and a refrigerator, while some are heated. The cottages are in the park’s Historic District and accessible via the Los Trancos entrance.

Tips for Snagging a Campsite Reservation
  • All of the individual Crystal Cove Beach Cottages are reservable 6 months in advance. Rooms in the dorm-style cottages are reservable 30 days in advance.
  • Sites can be reserved online or by calling 1-800-444-7275.
  • These beloved cottages often book out when their reservation window opens, so plan ahead!

When to Go

The Crystal Cove Beach Cottages make this beach park accessible year-round, including for winter trips when nighttime temperatures can dip into the 40s. Summer is when Crystal Cove State Park is at its busiest, with long days and perfect beach weather. Spring visitors may see wildflowers blooming in Moro Canyon. If you stay between December and April, bring your binoculars—this is gray whale migration season.
