Twisselman ranch is a 6 generation working cattle ranch that has been in the family since the 1800’s. We all enjoy this wonderful place and hope to share our experiences with others. We are located about 1 hour east of Paso Robles California a short drive off highway 58 and about 1.5 hours west of Bakersfield. Carrisa Plains is known for its beautiful display of wild flowers in the spring time, incredible sunny days, and spectacular wildlife viewing. The ranch is also located a short 29 min drive from the Carrizo Plain National Monument and Las Padres National Forest. Tule elk, prog horn antelope, and valley quail are just some of the animals you may encounter on our ranch. The pond is full of fish (bass, blue gill & sun perch) so don’t forget your fishing poles (catch & release). -We have beautiful 2 stall hot water showers, and three stall restroom including handicap stall. **Cleaned & Sanitized DAILY Our communal kitchen has : a large gas bbq grill, 3 smaller gas grills as well as gas burners & sink. **Cleaned & Sanitized DAILY. There are several counter high prepping tables around the kitchen (please clean up your cooking essentials & food after each meal as everyone shares this space). Campfires - We are an ember free site year round due to wildfire risks & insurance purposes. We do however have propane fire pit rentals for $20 per night. - great for roasting s’mores & the ambience of camping. Please do not cook any meals on them. All cooking is to be done in the communal kitchen area. The summer days can get pretty toasty and the winter nights can get very chilly so check the weather before your stay and plan accordingly. Don’t forget your swim suits as we have soaking troughs for you to cool off in. -Also please note we are located an hour from the nearest town, no stores or gas stations. Please come fully equipped with your own utensils, cooking essentials, food and beverages. We sell ICE!! $5 per 5lb bag. We are off grid, there is no electricity, all lights are battery or solar powered. You may want a flashlight or headlamp for walking around at night. The ranch has enormous views, peaceful quiet grounds, therapy assiting animals to snuggle with and of course close proximity to the local vineyard faire. We provide a nice level parking pad with firepit ring, big views of the rolling hills and a short walk to the barnyard. Nights are full of sparkling stars and the big milky way and be seen on clear moonless nights. Our animals include; micro mini cows, minature silky fainting goats, mini horses, mini donkey, mini Kunekune pigs, mini roosters, horses and a pack of the friendliest dogs you'll ever meet. We have partnered with Forever Protected Equine, a non- profit to support the retired working horses on to our pastures wear they can live a natural equine life with friends. This is a critical time for horses well being and safety. Instead of an uncertain future or slaughter they come here to be gently cared for until their sunset day.

This is a very special property, it felt like we walked for miles each day with our dogs in gentle rolling hills dotted with beautiful oak trees and not having any indication of humanity, lots of nature. Each night we walked up the nearby hill to watch the seemingly endless sunsets transform from yellows oranges and reds into shades of purple. The site is clean level and easy to access and the hookups are easy and clean. Christy was responsive, helpful and friendly with a nice gift bag upon arrival and other baking options in the mornings. There’s no doubt we’ll visit many more times when we need a nature break. Highly recommend.

Juno’s Creek Site offers 20- and 30-amp hookups, water, and sewer — everything you need for an easy RV stay.

A very friendly host, Douglas, received us, showed us where to park to get the best view! It is a farm Oasis! No other word for it! It is one of the most peacefull, quiet and calming spot we’ve been to! And just what we needed after the craziness of Los Angeles! And your night skies….wow!! Olwyn, Douglas and sons, dogs Rumbles, Wookie, Lizzy, Winnie, Yogi and all the other animals (goats, horses, Tom the turkey, pigs, ducks and cows); thank you so much for having us!

This spot is a little peace of heaven. Our drive in from LA, through the Santa Monica National Recreation Area and up the pacific coast highway was one of the most beautiful drives we have ever made. The rolling hills surrounded by farm and vineyard were the perfect setting to close our day. Perfect temps in July and we slept with the windows open and didn’t even run the generator??? Spot was level and clean and great communication from Olwyn. She gave our kids an incredible tour of the farm and let them help with all the animals. Quick stay but would recommend without reservation! A+++

What an exceptional spot! So peaceful! The hosts are welcoming and warm, just truly good people. Meeting the animals was beyond what I could have imagined. So many cute animals living their best life there under Olwyns amazing care. The kids LOVED it so much and couldn't wait to return to the campsites after our daytrips to greet the dogs. The dogs are such sweethearts and we were so sad to say goodbye. My daughter is still drawing pictures of Lizzy all the time and says she will never forget her. Highly recommend 10/10!

We absolutely loved this spot. My kids and dogs loved the farm since they were able to freely roam the land. It’s a very peaceful spot that overlooks the farm and other hillsides. There is no vehicle traffic noise. The farm animals were very cute and friendly. Olwyn and her husband were super friendly and interactive. My kids loved helping them feed the farm animals in the morning and evenings. We give this spot a 10 out of 10 and will be back in the near future.

Olwyn is a great host and loves her animals and showed her her farm. Her dogs, ducks, goats, pigs, cows, donkey, and horses were so friendly. The camping spot was great (we brought along a 23-ft Class C RV) - very private. The stars at night were amazing while roasting marshmallows by the fire ring.
