3 nights at Piney Hills Campground

Quiet with a nice property. Bathrooms and shower are great. Was awesome to have the a frame during a thunderstorm!

The platform is well-built and has tent tie-down anchors, which were very handy and avoided the need for tent stakes. The site is not crowded like state parks can be, yet within eyesight of other sites through trees, which is fine. The bathrooms are nice and were kept clean and stocked. (Although, the automatic lights were a tad annoying when they turned off while you’re still in the bathroom.) The site is *just* far enough away from the office where the WiFi becomes pretty spotty. However, we’re camping to unplug, right?! Nonetheless, it was a pleasant stay except for the stupid train that woke me up several times in the middle of multiple nights during our stay. But the owners can’t really help that - who are very nice and accommodating.

This was such a great stop! Lisa and James were so nice, their little farm was well kept and my kids loved the animals. We stayed in one of their RV spots, the facility was really nice, hot showers, laundry, clean bathrooms and they have a dump station on site!! I will be back here.

Campground is well run, clean, safe, with nice bathrooms. The campsite we had was private with good shade. I didn't get any bug bites, no ticks or chiggers. Lisa was friendly and super responsive to any requests. Lots of farm animals and walking trails. Highly recommend.

20 nights at Gullatte Acres

This place was nothing short of amazing. We booked tent site #3 and upon arrival, the space was clean and ready to go with two beautiful ponies as neighbors! Lisa & staff were extremely helpful and if you are lucky enough, you might even get a visit from Loki, the farm working dog! We were able to visit a number of other farm animals that were ready to see us. Outhouse/bath area was very clean which made this trip feel like a luxury while being nestled in nature. Needless to say, we did not want to leave. Will definitely be back!

I can’t say enough good things about Gullatte Acres. I work remote and live in my airstream with my dog. We originally came here because it was close to a friend I was visiting, but we ended up liking it so much that we extended our stay—twice as long as we’d planned! Sam and his family are truly wonderful hosts—always responsive, friendly, and willing to lend a hand with anything you might need. Their hospitality made the stay feel easy and welcoming from day one. The property itself is peaceful and full of charm. There’s a small pond with boats you’re welcome to use, firewood and fire pits, and they have fresh eggs you can buy. My dog absolutely loved being able to run off-leash and I loved how quiet and relaxing the setting was. The sunrises and sunsets here are absolutely stunning. It's about a 25 minute drive to Columbus, Opelika/Auburn, and Chewacla State Park. I spent most weekends hiking, running, or mountain biking somewhere nearby. If you’re into mountain biking, you’ll love the area—there are tons of great trails all within a short drive. All in all, Gullatte Acres is a gem. Whether you're just passing through or looking for a longer-term spot, it’s hard to beat the peace, nature, and hospitality you’ll find here. We'll definitely be back sometime!

Sweet camp spot which suited our needs perfectly after our visit to Pasaquan. Tiny A-frame was clean as were the showers. Quiet and peaceful. Morning coffee in the office was a welcome extra. A little challenging to find at night (it’s dark in the country!) but it made for incredible star-gazing.

Lisa and James were welcoming and hospitable. The site is nice with fire places, picnic tables and bbqs. the bathrooms are very clean. We loved the animals!

1 night at Piney Hills Campground

We enjoyed our two day stop here. The solitude was refreshing. Everyone was super friendly (not overly so). Loki the camp mascot does an amazing job of greeting guests including the 4 legged furry variety. My schnauzer is a bark first kind of pup. It only took a few moments and they were the best of friends. The facilities and sites are clean and well organized. This is a relatively new campground and I look forward to seeing how it grows. Thanks for a wonderful escape.

We enjoyed our stay for spring break. Property was ideal for us. My daughter loved all the animals. We went on a night hike up the hill to take in the dark sky.

Had a wonderful relaxing stay. Ease of communication with Lisa and James prior to and during our time there. Mike was also a great help. My daughter had fun spending time with all the animals and we all loved going to the top of the hill to see a clear sky of stars.

Weekend Trip to Gullatte Acres

We absolutely loved this campground! This was my sons first camping trip and he said countless times how much he loved it and didn't want to leave. Bathrooms/showers were clean and convenient. We would definitely come back!

Quiet, private. Was the only camper on the north side. Well marked roads make it easy to find your campsite.

This was my first time using Hipcamp and I was very impressed! Lisa & James were thoughtful hosts and went above and beyond for our stay. Would definitely recommend!

We loved our full hookup RV spot at Samuel’s land. Checkin couldn’t have been simpler, we got in after dark and still found our spot easily, and enjoyed a fire in the fire pit and the clear night sky. Quiet as can be, very peaceful. And the flushable toilet and shower are a nice addition too. We’d definitely recommend the spot, and will remember it’s there if we make our way out that way again.
