There are two types of road trippers in the world.

Some are all about the drive, arriving late to camp and leaving early. Others, though, are more leisurely, taking time to explore even when it’s only a pit stop. For these campers, Gascoyne Lake is a great place to hang out between stints down I-12. Close to the highway, but pleasantly situated on a decently sized reservoir, it’s an excellent place to unwind and even catch a fish or two before heading back to the open road.
