Once you arrive you’ll be greeted to scenic vistas of the Kern River and Kern River Valley. Oh, did we mention that you’ll have to schlepp your food and water up 40 steep steps? Of course, when you’re sleeping on an island in the sky, it’s worth it. This lookout comes with two twin beds, a kitchen with a propane range, propane lights, and a wraparound deck. No electricity, but there’s a guaranteed natural recharge.
