With sites set in luxurious shade along a series of loops, Princess Campground is truly fit for royalty.

Stroll along Indian Basin Grove Interpretive Trail through the stately trees and open meadow to survey your kingdom. An amphitheater for gatherings adds a sophisticated touch. Nearby Hume Lake is at your disposal for boating or fishing. Of course toilets and drinking water are readily available, Your Majesty. We’ve foregone electricity, however, for that authentic Dark Ages touch.

Probably my second favorite Sierra campground, this used to be massive sequoia forest that was logged in the late 1800's, which is now rebounded with young 100ft sequoia "saplings" and the stumps of their ancient parents. No cell reception, but close to Grant grove and hume lake, as well as great shade coverage, picnic tables, fire rings, water, pit toilets, bear boxes, and some trails near by. Great place for Kings Canyon NP.

Great campsite between King's Canyon and Sequoia National park. Close to Hume lake where we got to swim.

Thanks for the post! I have a question about site 49 will it accommodate 25' travel trailer + a Chevy Tahoe towing it. Thank you very much.

Situated just off the stretch of road that connects the two sections of Kings Canyon, Princess Campground is the perfect home base for exploring both Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. In addition to its central location, it takes reservations, so you can book a roomy spot well in advance of the summer season. We stayed in spot 49, which had enough room for at least 4 more tents and backed up to the Indian Basin Grove Interpretive Trail that runs through a giant sequoia stump meadow, adjacent to the campground. AKA easy access for golden hour photo-taking.

Bigger sites spread further apart for privacy than the nearby NPS campgrounds, and often much less crowded and congested. Nice nature trail nearby; well maintained.
