Enjoy a park-like and secluded 2 acres on the Caddo River with over 1/4 mile of river frontage. This clean and comfortable shack is pet friendly! Watch the river and deer from the porch, kayak up and downstream from the property, swim in the 8-foot-deep swimming area or wade in the shallows. Sit around the fire as owls call out and eagles and osprey soar through the valley. It's a great place for a couple or the lone-traveler seeking a beautiful spot on the river! The Shack is clean, cute, and small with a kitchen, living room, bedroom (no door) and full bathroom with large shower. You will be the only guest on the 2-acre property. Enjoy your morning coffee or lounge in the bathtub on the screened porch! Nap in the hammock or in a chair by the river. Swim in the deep areas of the river, or wade in the shallows.
There is only one bed, so the shack is not suitable for families or groups, but it's a great romantic spot for a couple or a lone-traveler wanting a secluded place on the river. So, shack up at the River Shack for a few nights and discover how Shacktastic this spot on the Caddo River really is! Tin roof... Rusted!
Additional info about seclusion: This section of river is mostly undeveloped so most of the time you will enjoy the river alone! However, during holidays, weekends, and warm summer days, others may float or kayak by. Warm holiday weekends are downright crazy with people in the river. But even on busy days, the mornings and evenings are usually very quiet. The outdoor tub (on screened porch) can be enjoyed with privacy most of the time, but use caution when getting in or out of the tub if groups have stopped to swim in the river. Some guests tell us that they enjoyed skinny dipping in the river here. It's not a problem as long as no one else is around. There are two outdoor security cameras on The Shack. Guests are told where the switches are.
