Learn more about this land: Last Chance Glass Studio and Getaway is a small eleven acre farm exceptionally situated in the gorgeous Walla Walla Valley. There are level access and pull through camp sites along the Burlingame Canal and the South fork of the Little Walla Walla river (a creek). Enjoy nature here on the Old Oregon trail in the form of beaver ponds, coyote song, deer trails, bird watching and star gazing - just a half mile from the historic Whitman Mission. Park on the partial pavement (Mountain and Garden Sites) or drive gently on the grass to one of the well separated sites. Each site has its own picnic table and fire pit. There is self service firewood for sale. Orchard Site and Park Site are shady and cool on the north side of the drive. Park is nestled in the trees next to the barn. Orchard site has mature trees for both shade and sunshine. Park site has it's own water spigot and is within reach of a 110amp electrical outlet with your extension cord. No A/C or high amp use please. Mountain Site and Garden site are both situated along the Burlingame Canal, a historic waterway and engineering marvel worth googling. Both have an unobstructed east facing view of farmland and the Blue Mountains - perfect for full moons and sunrises. These two sites are generally in the shade around dinner time. Note: The canal is empty August and Sept Creekside Site is the newest site. Fully fenced. Full hook up. Private and secluded. Quiet dogs permitted on leash only. Professionally maintained Sani-can. Beautiful potable well water. In general it is my policy to not review people who are relaxed and camping. I do appreciate your private suggestions and continued good public reviews! I strive hard to be a TRULY hospitable and peaceful getaway! I feel grateful every day to be living in such a pretty place. Walla Walla, Washington... who knew?! It is a joy to share it. One note--We do not have full RV hookups. Both Hipcamp sites on the farm do have water hooks. And, in a pinch, we can get power to you if absolutely needed. We’re also about 26 miles from the Snake River, and 36 miles to Columbia River if the water is where you would enjoy your day. Yonder Hills Disc Golf and Camping

The property, aptly named the Oasis years ago, is 34-acres of lawns, shade trees, ponds, and natural landscaping over 50 years in the making. The landscaping was started by Tom who still lives in the farmhouse. The Schierman family has owned this property for four generations. The Oasis is located in the rolling hills of the Palouse in eastern Washington State. The newly created Yonder Hills Disc Golf Course is a private 18 and 9-basket course with long and short pads for almost every basket. A mix of open lawn, wooded fairways, water hazards, and elevation changes. Day, overnight or weekly reservations must be made to enjoy this private course. The disc golf course is under construction with some layout changes on the last three baskets. It's playable but it isn't perfect yet. We had to shift focus to the barn restoration grant to meet the June 2025 deadline. This is a perfect basecamp to relax and unwind or be creative. Read in the lawn. Cook over the fire. Explore the Palouse. Disc golf anytime. Guests may bring their own private fire pits. Firewood is provided for the community fire pit. Yonder Hills can be reserved for larger group camps and private camping events. There is plenty of room for several vehicles and tailgate camping. Please contact us to request a reservation for a reunion, wedding, private party, disc golf tournament, or concert. There are no dedicated electrical hookups, sewage hookups, or potable water available at this time. Bottled or bulk water is available in in St. John five miles away. Electrical outlets in the gravel parking area can be used to charge small devices. We are constantly upgrading the property, look forward to better amenities as we grow. St. John has a bar/restaurant, grocery store, hardware stores, gas station, 2 hotel rooms, library, coffee and gift shops as well as a very nice 9-hole traditional golf course. There are numerous small towns, lakes, rivers/creeks, backroads, viewpoints, and historic stops around the Palouse region as well as amazing photography year round. Come for the abundant stars, the fall colors and brisk air, to socialize with other travelers, or to find the peace of the Palouse country.

About

The bird’s-eye view of the white-and-blue spray of surging Palouse Falls down the black of the basalt canyon makes this park a must-see. Formed during the Ice Age floods over 10,000 years ago (this is a noted stop on the Ice Age Floods National Geologic Trail), there are numerous interpretive signs that speak to the area’s dramatic geologic history, as well as a short hike to the top of a nearby hill for another perspective. Amateur photographers should make this one an overnight stay to capture the glow of the falls at dawn and dusk. With only 11 tent campsites, Palouse Falls Campground provides a front-row seat for capturing the beauty of the falls in early morning light or at sunset.

Tips for snagging a campsite

All campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and fill up quickly on weekends and holidays.
The campground features only 11 tent-only campsites, each of which can accommodate two tents and up to four people. Vehicle lengths are limited to up to 20 feet.
Campsite fees are payable by cash or check only, and additional vehicle fees apply.

When to go

Visit in spring or early summer to see the surrounding shrub-steppe plateau covered in vibrant green new growth and to see water flow over the falls, thanks to early-season glacial melt. Birdwatchers during this time of year should also keep an eye out for white-throated swifts, yellow warblers, and horned larks. Birds of prey abound with peregrine falcons nesting in the cliffs and golden eagles hunting around the falls.

Know before you go

The waterfall is viewable from the parking lot, while a short, third-of-a-mile trail veers through nearby grassland.
Stay on designated trails in the park, as those that are not can be unsafe and sometimes veer onto private property.
One campsite at Palouse Falls Campground is ADA accessible.
Watch for rattlesnakes, frequently spotted in the park.
Temperatures can soar in the summer months, and water is sometimes unavailable at the campground, so it’s best to pack your own.
Visit Walla Walla Shaved Ice (open Friday through Sunday, April through October) for a wide variety of Hawaiian shaved ice flavors, as well as other snacks and beverages.
