The hills throughout the property provide beautiful views, and the landscape is alive with ferns, moss, deer, pollinators, trees, and plants.
Thanks to the excellent air and water quality, salamanders and toads also thrive here—though they may take a little searching to spot. During the day, the dappled light makes the site feel magical.
The campsite includes a furnished yurt with a bed, fold-out couch, chair, table, and beverage bar for coffee, tea, and water. Propane burners and utensils are provided for cooking, along with an open-fire grill (removable from the fire pit if needed).
The outhouse features a composting toilet, a wash area for hands and face, basic hygiene products, and potable water. Additional potable water is also available in the yurt. A dining table with chairs is provided, and plenty of firewood and kindling are stocked for your stay. Solar lights along the trail, on the outhouse, and on the yurt create a warm, cozy atmosphere at night.
This property is conveniently located within 20 minutes of the UNESCO World Heritage Hopewell Mound sites, Legend Valley, and Buckeye Lake (30 minutes), as well as OSU Newark, Denison University, the Longaberger Basket Building, and Dawes Arboretum. Grocery stores and restaurants are nearby, with a gas station and mini market just half a mile down the road. Columbus city center is about a 45–50 minute drive.
The drive here follows scenic country roads, so please be mindful of winding turns and local wildlife along the way. While visiting, you may hear or see our chickens and pups, though they stay close to the house.
