Morrow Mountain Campground

If you want to beef up your beginner backpacking skills check out the primitive backcountry campground at Morrow Mountain. Being just two miles from the park office makes it accessible for all levels of backpacker, but still gets you away from the riff-raff, aka vehicles. If carrying all your gear on your back sounds like a pain in your neck, stay at one of the vacation cabins or at the large family camping area, with all the cushy amenities you crave as well as ranger led interpretive programs at the amphitheater. Either way, you will love all the fun and beauty that Morrow Mountain State park has to offer.
