Even after we moved away after graduating from NBHS, every year, on the beautiful drive to and from the property, my wife and I would marvel at the perfection of the river scene and the many ferns and mosses growing everywhere. So much nicer than the coast most days. No cell service or wifi became a luxury as we worked hard building our dream life. Next to the historic Crawfordsville Covered Bridge. 8 miles from Brownsville, this town has been featured in multiple movies. 13.8 miles from Foster lake. At the bottom of the property there is a tree house, fire pit, and large grass field that could accommodate 20+ tents. Upper area is a rock parking area with RV hook ups. gas firepit, gas BBQ, and picknic table. I only rent to one group at a time. Rarely camping there when campers are there but father is on site (the grey house) to assist if needed.

Learn more about this land: One mile from I-5, you may pitch your tent or park your van near some fir trees at the edge of a small meadow bordering Elk Creek. Feel the restful flow of water bringing tranquility. Follow hiking trails along the creek, through groves of trees, or play in the singing creek. There is another hiking trail to another portion of the creek to the right of the road that passes by the barn. A sign on an oak tree indicates the edge of the large mowed meadow that will take you to another sign for the trail to the creek. When entering the property at the county road, you’ll see a big Century Farm sign on the left at the driveway entrance. Continue past a brown machine shed followed by two apple trees on your left. Just beyond the apple trees is a sign on a big fir tree that points to where the campsite parking is located. Shaped like an arrow it points to the mowed path to the creek and campsite which you may drive down to arrive at the campsite. Uphill from the campsite is a trail going through a small copse of trees that leads up to the red barn. On the left at the entrance to the barn is a bathroom complete with sink and shower. Towels are not provided. Beneath the apple trees is a faucet with drink safety hose and a bucket for your use.

Enjoy excellent, year-round fishing, kayaking, and swimming right from your private and secluded campsite. Our property is located between 2 boat ramps which makes kayak, canoe, or raft floats a breeze. The property features beautiful, mature trees, fun bedrock to explore, and an amazing swimming hole (in the summertime when the river level is low enough). Sit at the river’s edge and enjoy the sounds of the water. Be sure to watch for soaring Eagles, jumping fish, and the occasional mink on the opposite river's edge! There are multiple wineries nearby and lots of hiking trails within a short drive. There is no cell service at the property - please plan ahead and check local burn ban policies before you go. The "owners area" camping spot is a large, graveled, gated area that has trees between the road and parking. There is a port-a-potty for use in the summer months. There is also a fire pit on the lower level overlooking the river, a hidden tree swing, and deck with picnic table. The "site 1" camping spot has a driveway that is hard-packed grass and is not gated. There is a small fire pit on the path by the river. There are areas under the trees both up top near the road and down near the path that are suitable for tents. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a fully manicured campground. There are bushes and grasses that grow year round. We do our best to keep things trimmed and accessible. Sometimes (especially in the spring) things grow more quickly than we can get to them. Please don't expect this to be a perfectly mowed, backyard-type site.

Surrounded by BLM and Timber properties, while being 6 miles from downtown Cottage Grove and 30 miles from downtown Eugene. Nearby access to: two lakes for swimming and fishing, waterfalls and cliff-jumping, hiking and biking trails, dining, wineries, breweries, shopping and more. I am happy to offer suggestions and share what I know- please ask! All guests have access to the outdoor shower, which is located by the green Dome. Please use biodegradable soap in the shower! Potable water spigots are located by the carport and at the top of the steps leading down to our platform site. Each site has its own composting toilet, fire-pit and electrical outlet. The property consists of Oak savanna, mixed conifer woodland, camas meadow, undulating hills and a SMALL pond (home to many rough-skinned newts- no swimming or fishing). At our domestead we practice permaculture, native habitat restoration and regenerative forestry. UPDATE: The timber acreage that borders our property- to the west and north of Overholser Road- was harvested winter 2024. There is a .8 mile loop that goes around the whole property, which we keep mowed and accessible. Hipcampers are encouraged to use the loop to explore the property. To access- walk south/downhill toward the pond signs and follow the mowed path through the meadow and back up toward the road, which will take you back to your campsite. I have included a screenshot of the loop as recorded by my Strava app, which is in the property photos. The property hosts a geodesic play-dome and slack-line (during the dry months) up by the green dome/outdoor shower. Guests may play on these at their own risk- the closest hospital is 7 miles away. Poison oak is present on the property! I have done my best to clear it from camping areas and trails. Tecnu is provided in the outdoor shower. *Please note- if you do not respect our camp rules your visit will be flagged, hipcamp will be notified and you will be asked to pay 25% of your booking fee for cleanup costs.*

Alsea Valley Farm

Our farm is nestled at the end of Honey Grove Valley in the lush coastal mountains. The creek meanders through our seven acre property. The north side contains a field, small orchard, greenhouses and barn. The south side is steep and wooded with healthy riparian. An extension to the Honey Grove trail leads out of the property accessing seven miles of hiking and mountain bike trails. Nearby activities include hiking and mountain biking in Mary's Peak and Alsea Falls recreational area. Fishing access to the Alsea River is located 1.5 miles from the property on Honey Grove Road. The guest cabin has two rooms and can sleep (4) guests comfortably and up to (6) guests. It contains (2) queen size beds, one pull out couch, and an optional futon mattress and a fold out single bed. One bed is in a loft accessed by a ship ladder. There is a small kitchen and attached bathhouse. The toilet is non-flush, composting. From the designated parking area there is a 200 foot walk along a gravel path to the cabin. Other features include a fire pit, sauna, and creek access. Internet is available in the cabin. There is a Level 2 vehicle charger available for guests. The property also contains a host residence. The area around the residence is for the hosts. The cabin and the property are very quaint and inviting but also very rustic. Do not be surprised to see a few spiders and other bugs, the occasional bunny, wild turkeys, Garter Snakes by the ponds and newts on the trails. Please maintain good situational awareness when enjoying the property as structures and grounds may have some inherent hazards. Barn is off limits. Greenhouse and gardens are fine to explore as long as doors and gates are closed and dogs are kept out. Please refrain from harvesting produce and/or eggs unless accompanied or given permission from hosts directly.

Some spots have fire pits. Again depending on time of year and heat conditions. Because we have so many trees, we have to make sure no fires are to close to any tree's. Again, please Ask before burning. No random burning unless oked by land owners. Thank you for for helping to keep everyone safe. We have numerous ponds throughout the property and swimming holes. We turned the 4 stall barn into a music room where we gather and host events. Soon we will have designated Spots, equipped with fire rings. We will have teepees, tree houses, glamping tents. As of now we have room for numerous big groups spots for tent camping. Soon we’ll have plug-ins for RV and fifth wheel travelers. We have alot of space to camp and still have your privacy. Currently we have an out house and hose shower and you can also use the potty Under the Star's. We provide Toilet paper and try to keep stocked but, just ask if outhouses are out of paper. There are lovely walking trails throughout the property and tranquil sitting areas. We will update our progress as it happens. Hope to see you soon.. Remember to bring your own cooking equipment like grills. There's a cleaning station near shower. Water is straight from the well and beautiful drinking water.
