Romantic Stone Cottage
Our weekend stay at the pristine Romantic Stone Cottage was exactly what we needed to rest, relax, and rejuvenate! The charming cottage is appointed with rough hewn ceiling rafters, wide planked hardwood floors, and stone walls, celebrating the history of the cottage. The centerpiece of the main room is marvelous bed, built by our host. Scattered throughout the cottage are period pieces of furniture that add to the coziness and overall charm. The bathroom and kitchen are updated and stocked with everything that one needs for a comfortable stay. Our host was the best ever! Regan helped us through the booking process, responded promptly to our questions, and provided helpful information to make our stay a happy one! Stone Cottage is conveniently located near various hikes, wineries, and restaurants. After a day of taking in the sights, we returned to find 2 deer walking around the cottage and later enjoyed a fire under the stars. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning someday soon!

Romantic Stone Cottage
An amazing experience!
When my husband first showed me pictures of this cabin, I knew immediately that this was going to be a special place for us. The description says “romantic” and it is. As you pull up to this tiny little cabin, you are immediately struck by the sense of being in a different world or country. It’s almost as if you are taken back in time to the French countryside. A feeling of peace settles in, your shoulders drop and you can finally breathe after a long week of work. Even though we visited in the middle of January, I could imagine the beauty of the place in the summer. The surrounding trees must be so vibrant at that time of year.
As we opened the cabin door for the first time, we were instantly drawn in by the interior of the cabin. It is beautiful! The colors are calming and a perfect backdrop for any kind of visit you may have planned. The windows let in all of this amazing natural light which is reflected off the white walls. It makes the space seem so much bigger than it is yet cozy at the same time. As your eyes start to wander across the main room, you can see the impeccable attention to detail the owners went through to build this haven. The woodwork is amazing! The beams and whitewashed ceiling, the amazing wood floors, the railing….it all combines into such a restul space. That feeling of being back in time in another place just washes over you.
As your eyes continue to skim across the space, they will immediately be drawn to the amazing bed that is the centerpiece of the main room. The craftsmanship of the head and footboards is astounding. Paired with the white linens and the neutral throw pillows, it looks so relaxing that you can’t wait to lay down and try it out. You won’t be surprised when you sink into the comfy mattress. It really is the icing on the cake to know that after a day of exploring wine country you can lay down to rest there.
The cabin also features a wonderful kitchen that we took full advantage of. It too has that old farmhouse feel even though it has all of the modern amenities. Sitting at the little table by the window overlooking the woods to eat our meals brought an element of intimacy to eating that was not lost on me. On our last morning there, we watched two deer graze among the trees as we ate our breakfast. It was magical. The decor and the old china we used to dine on made it even more special of an event. I highly recommend to check out the paint job on the door in the kitchen. It inspired me to do something just like it in my own home. The craftsmanship is beautiful! I’ve never taken so many pictures of a door!
There is only one bathroom in this tiny home, but it is big enough for two. It’s such a clean and crisp little space. The water was hot , which in my experience doesn’t often happen in small cabins like this. It made the stay here so much more relaxing. The hot water washed all of my stress away.
I can’t forget to mention the fire pit area out front of the cabin. It is a simple space. Two chairs and a fire pit. Nothing major but it was still perfect. My husband made the most beautiful, warm fire. It was around 30 degrees out but the way the fire pit is set up, it kept us nice and toasty all evening. It was the perfect ending to our day.
I know this review centers a lot around how this place made me feel, but that’s just it. It’s what made my time there special. I am hesitant about writing such a glowing review because I want to be able to book this place without problems, but it is too special to keep to myself. I highly recommend staying here, even if it is just for one night. Thank you Don and Reagan for building this wonderful place for people to reconnect with each other. You have created a truly amazing experience!
