Discover the most magical spots to pitch your tent or park your rig on your next Caledonia State Park adventure.
Discover the scenic beauty of Caledonia State Park.
Caledonia State Park sits gingerly on the northern crest of Blue Ridge Mountain, at a little spot called South Mountain. Enshrouded by vivacious soils chock-full of juicy orchards that will have you suckling like a baby, and with trout-filled streams that will have you crying (out of joy!) like one. With two well-endowed campgrounds blanketed by starry skies and gently serrated by towers of pine and oak, you’ll be sleeping like a baby too. But it’s not all baby talk here. Hike a few mile sample of the renowned 2,186 mile Appalachian Trail that connects Georgia to Maine, and feel connected to the age-old lands that so many before you and after you will traverse
The best time to visit Caledonia State Park is during the spring and fall when the weather is mild and the foliage is either blooming or showcasing a vibrant array of colors. Summer offers warm days perfect for exploring, though it can be crowded. Winters are cold and may limit access to some park areas.
