Sherwood Cottage is located on 15 acres of lush grounds and although the gardens are still being developed, we boast a majestic 100+ year old oak tree (Quercus robur) reportedly grown from an acorn originated from Sherwood Forrest, England. The private residence 'Sherwood Cottage' is noted on the City of Albany Heritage Inventory. Post WW11 period, it is a charming rural Australian style cottage constructed of weatherboard timber and corrugated iron roof.
Love the environment, the green grass and the beautiful view of the fruit trees, my kids loved feeding the animals especially the ducks, and had lots and lots of fun at the big swing next to the beautiful pond!
Absolutely stunning property with amazing hosts, we will definitely be coming back in the future to explore more of Albany! Thank you so much Dave, Helen and Finn.
We loved our stay at Sherwood Cottage. Dave and Helen were warm and welcoming and we immediately felt at home. As you drive past the house and over a little bridge, you enter an open field next to a running creek. Although there were a couple of other groups also staying the same weekend as us, we found a lovely spot under a tree next to the creek. There was a picnic table also in this area which was handy. There is one drop toilet that is well maintained and includes information on what there is to do in the area. Overall, we had a lovely stay and cannot wait to return. Thanks Dave and Helen!
We stayed one night with our camper. A large beautiful property with loads of space and privacy. So peaceful and lots of grass. Helen was lovely and so quick to respond given how late we left our booking. The new drop toilet is great and the places to visit board in the toilet was a lovely touch! Would definitely recommend
What a lovely place to spend 4 days.
Helen was extremely friendly, and was often out and about working around the property.
Well kept grounds and a lovely setting.
Hope to get back again soon.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sherwood Cottage. An awesome place to base yourself while exploring Albany and surrounds. Quiet and peaceful, plenty of room so that you feel you are there alone, and the flashiest drop dunny ever. Thanks Dave and Helen for sharing your lovely property.
