Almost Heaven
28 ft travel trailer · With kids · My husband, toddler and I stayed a long weekend at Kat’s place. We wanted to be close to Babcock State Park and the Gorge. Her spot was literally right next door to Babcock and a comfortable drive to the Gorge. We also visited a local ice cream joint and a brewery as well as Sandstone Falls. There are many gas stations in close proximity to Kat’s place. There was also a natural spring right up the road that caught our attention. The spot had great stargazing views and was completely surrounded by trees, making it feel private and secluded. You can hear traffic from the road, but you can’t see it from the gravel pad.
What you get is what you see in the photos. We parked our 27 foot camper on the gravel pad and had plenty of room. The pad is not perfectly level, but if you have proper levelers, you’ll be fine. I recommend bringing an all-weather mat to put outside of your door as you’ll be parking on driveway rocks and dirt.
We were greeted on our first night there and were given information from Kat and her husband regarding their property and the surrounding areas. They were generous hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We felt safe and welcome the entirety of our stay. If ever we decide to go back to that area, we will be returning to Kat’s place!
