The Yurt at Mt Snow is a hidden treasure if you are looking to unwind in privacy with a great view. Gaze through the ceiling dome of the yurt at the tree tops, stars and moon, wake up to an expansive sunrise over the Green Mountains. Enjoy cocktails on the deck with treetop and mountain views. Breathtaking at any time of the year, for different reasons! The yurt is one-of-a-kind, private, cozy and comfortable...just as cool as Vermont is! Inside this spacious 450 sq foot dwelling, there is a comfortable queen-sized bed, a futon and an armchair for gathering and a kitchen area where you can prepare simple meals. There is a table inside that seats 4. This is a getaway in nature - the yurt is surrounded by maple and birch trees, and boasts a stellar mountain view. We have electricity! The yurt can comfortably accommodate 5 guests - 2 in the queen bed, 1-2 on the double-sized futon and 1-2 on an aerobed (that you will need to supply yourself). We have electricity in the yurt so you can easily inflate it that way and store it against the wall or under the queen bed when not in use. Please let us know your accurate number of guests so that we can leave sheets for the futon for you. Is there water? Please note that there is no running water in the yurt - this means no shower or sinks with running water. For drinking, there is a 5 gallon jug with a simple pump in the kitchen area. Please note that once winter arrives, the jug may be frozen when you arrive! You are welcome to bring your own additional drinking water or water bottles as well. Although it's rustic, it's comfortable and we have found that the running water trade-off is worth it for this setting! Is there a bathroom? Yes! There is an incinerator toilet located inside of a bathroom just outside of the yurt. Incinerator toilets immediately burn waste into ash and vent to the outdoors. They are simple and odorless. The bathroom is private...and also has a view! The french doors of the yurt open onto an AMAZING deck with multiple seating options. Check out the photos to see the bistro table, stump seating, cushioned furniture and even the hammock swinging below the platform. Is there electricity? Yes! Let there be light and power! There is a variety of lighting to choose from in the yurt - overhead lighting, two bedside overhead lights for evening reading, a Himalayan lamp for a warm pink glow and twinkle lights as well. Your choice! Where can you grocery shop/can you cook? A village market, stocked with all the foodstuffs you might need and a sandwich counter, is less than ~5 minutes away by car. There are great restaurants in Dover and Wilmington as well. If you'd like to prepare some simple meals in the yurt, the tiny kitchen area offers a mini-fridge and microwave for prepping a quick meal. As there is no running water in the yurt, we ask that you keep meals simple and easy-to-clean. Is there heat/air conditioning? Vermont can get very cold in the winter! The yurt is insulated and has a pellet stove heater, but bring thermals, long johns and/or slippers for added warmth when it’s cold :) In the summer there is an electric. ceiling fan and a lot of shade/breezes from the forest. Please note: We do not provide wifi, but a cell signal is typically available from the deck. This is your chance to unplug! :) What can you do when you’re not enjoying peace, quiet and quality time? Enjoy the spacious deck, with views of towering maples over the mountains. Head to Mt Snow (just 10 min away) for all-season adventure, or drive just up the street for public hiking trails. Our 20-acre property invites you to wander through the forest or hike/snowshoe up to the top to peek through the trees at Mt Snow and Haystack ski Mountains.

Yurt
Sort of private, very cozy
We had an amazing stay in the yurt. Everything was staged and welcoming. We did have an unexpected visitor and a good number of trucks passing by, but not enough to take away from the views. Would recommend with a caveat for the lack of privacy.
