SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS. Total numbers at the site are kept below 45 people for a more peaceful experience. Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Port Artur historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained).

Semaphore Farm offers campers a spacious and peaceful environment, with lovely views and proximity to Port Arthur's historic site. The campsite is well-regarded for its clean and well-maintained amenities, including a hot shower and a camp kitchen. It's a dog-friendly spot, making it a great option for pet owners. While some visitors noted that the site could be pricey and challenging to navigate for larger rigs, overall, the experience is positive with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere.

This was a great place to camp with a fantastic position. All the facilities I needed and more. I ended up staying 2 more nights than I originally planned and will stay there again if I am ever down Port Arthur.

The site is in a fantastic location really close to the Port Arthur historic site, a stunning little beach and the Nubeenna shops for groceries etc. The large rustic camp kitchen/shelter area would get alot of use in bad weather and the basic toilet and shower facilities make it accessible to campers who aren't self contained. It's set on a rolling green hillside with a number of spacious level terraces carved into the hill to camp on. When it's quiet the spot is lovely but the terraces are quite close together so when the site reaches the advertised capacity (or more when we were there) it tends to squish people together a bit too closely. Despite the overall site being so large the slope of the hill doesn't allow people to realistically use much of the area other than the terraces to spread out. All in all a great spot, and with the bonus of being dog friendly, but just be prepared to have neighbours.

This is a great spot to explore Port Arthur and surrounds. A Little steepish but level pads and a lovely big grassed area at the bottom. Amenities are good and clean. Adriana is a lovely person who has great stories of her families beginnings and the history behind this property.

A great spot to explore the peninsula. A little steepish when entering but the level pads a great. Plus there’s an area in the lower section that is ok for vans. This has a great view. Lovely field surrounded by tall gums. Lots of wildlife around. Walking distance to the historic Port Arthur site. We met Adrianna who gave us a great talk on how her family purchased this farm. Will certainly come back again. Thank you
