SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS. Semaphore Farm is a 400-acre property with convict history, bordering the Po historic site. It is a private timber reserve and a working forest farm. We have a combination of native eucalypt forest and plantation, and we grow hay and our own beef. We have many walking and bike trails through 150 acres of forest and pasture accessible to campers. The campsite has spring water on tap, a hot shower, toilet, rustic camp kitchen, wood stove, gas BBQ, level sites, and a campfire when permitted. Tent sites are flexible so you can choose your own space within a 2-hectare area, while Level pad sites are limited. The Port Arthur Historic Site and a safe swimming beach are within walking distance and Safety Cove and Remarkable Cave are only a 5-minute drive away. Longer walks, including the Three Capes tracks, are easily accessible. Launch your boat nearby to access good fishing or fish for squid off the Port Arthur jetty. There is plenty of wildlife to see at night and birds during the day. You might even see our resident Wedgetail Eagle! Dog-friendly (must be under control/on a lead/contained). SAME-DAY BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY 2 PM THANKS.

Semaphore Farm Level Pad 1
Marion was really sweet and helpful, giving us clear directions to the Port Arthur historic site, and explaining the history of the land. It was a wonderful place to camp at and we’re so thankful to have found this gem of a place. Thank you!

Semaphore Farm N8 Tent Site
Amazing Place
Semaphore farm is an amazing place, close to the Port Arthur ruins, and the water. Marian will meet you on arrival and give you a history of the place as well as a locals guide to get around and what to see. The facilities although rustic are very well appointed, with a gas bbq and stove top, hot and cold running water and filtered natural spring water on tap. The numbers at the camp are capped to make sure everyone has plenty of space. I highly recommend Semaphore Farm as a place to set up camp for a holiday when visiting the area.

Just what we needed ☺️
My partner and I absolutely loved our stay here, it was just what we needed to settle into our campervan trip around Tasmania (first timers). Thank you to Marian for your lovely welcome and advice, we will be telling our friends and family to come visit when they think of travelling to Port Arthur, TAS.

Semaphore Farm N7 Tent Site
Excellent spots available, nice and flat and some for long rigs. Good communal facilities for all to use. When booking, it allocates you a a site but you get to choose wherever you’d like when you arrive, so don’t worry about the number on Hipcamps or what type of site you’d like.
